I am starting a new thread for nurses starting in the online May 2013 cohort for ADN to BSN outreach initiative. The first class is NRSE 4510. What's on your mind guys!
It is "wise" to take the first class by itself and see how it goes. The classes are very time consuming as emeregency ken said 15 weeks crammed into 5 weeks. I took my first one 4510 in feb. and it was a little intimidating as I had no clue what they wanted. Again I did well but cannot see myself taking 2 nursing classes at a time. I want to do well, not go crazy and enjoy life also. I will finish in April next year, having taken 17 classes in 14 months! APA gets a little getting use to if you haven't done it ( I didn't) And the TA's love to ding you on everything!
Ohh gosh! First day of school!!!!!!! Wow, i'm glad I only started out with only one class. Seems like a full load of work to be done by week one! This is going to take lots of organization on my part! I am concerned about the "release of information" form. I don't want to give my permission for my work to be shared! But will this reflect badly only part, I want to be cooperative and get my degree. Does any one know if I decline to share my information will this reflect badly on me?

I don't have any such form that I need to fill out. Then again I'm in a different cohort and different section. I feel you on how much work this seems to be. I can't imagine taking more than 1 of these courses over the 5 weeks. At least at the start.
The 3 forms that we are required to turn in are in blackboard under the "course resources" title in the left hand column where it says "forms". I was told we have to turn these in by week 2....but there is a possibility some sections may not have to turn these in.
I got it straightened out. Ours just need to be in by the end of the first 5 weeks. You can get the forms on the RN-BSN knowledge center page. Then you fill them out and fax them to the nursing office. So far I've got the Self test done, the discussion board postings (not graded this week) done, the APA exercise done, and I've got the formatting done for the personal statement paper. Writing the personal statement paper is going to suck though.
Good job! Your on it! I as well have done all the readings, the discussion postings and the APA exercise-- which was really hard!!! I'm scared to take the self test but since we can take it twice I will attempt it tonight, lol. and I'm pretty scared to even start the personal statement..lol! I always save the worst for last! So far I still have first day jitters! I'm new to this online class thing but I think I might like it....

I have 0 gen ed and 0 prereq courses to take only the 9 nursing courses thanks to a prior bachelors degree and additional prereq courses I took at Tri-C. Made a plan prior to starting the ADN program at Tri-C and have stuck with it.
