Well I'm in the Online Degree completion cohort, but I'm ready to get going.

Im a cohort too!!! Online degree completion. Start the same date. I havent enrolled in any classes yet. Just got my acceptance letter on the first. Do you guys have any idea when i will find out about financial aid or do you understand the credit transfer report? It makes no sense to me. I feel lost. Im admitted but know nothing except I start in may. I also have an A.D.N. Very excited and motivated!!!!

I'm starting in May as well. I'm taking 4510, stats, nutrition, and business communication. I have no idea about the financial aid stuff because I plan on making my employer foot the bill! I did fill out a FAFSA just in case but I'm betting I make too much to get anything more than the usual loans.

Your taking all that 1st term? If they ever get me set up for enrollment, I might do the same.It depends on financial aid. I dont know how I would pay for all that out of pocket. Hopefully Ill get my welcome packet soon and be able to get enrolled in classes. Have you received your DARS? I hear it takes a while and I wonder how you know what classes to take. Im sure I have to take all the same classes. I have been researching it. I qualified for financial aid but im not sure what I will get. I havent been assigned an advising yet so im going crazy with questions. Do you all ready have all your classes planned out and know how long it will take? Im planning to apply for the FNP and want to do so way in advance with hopes of starting next fall.

Unless you are only working a few hours a week, I don't recommend taking that many classes at one time. I only took one nursing class at a time for the first few weeks. Everybody has to start out with 4510. It is hard to get used to the amount of work at first. That is my take at least. Some people took 2 classes at a time. Right now I'm one year in, and I am taking 3 classes per semester. I didn't get my DARS back until after I had started. Your DARS will tell you what you need to take. Since you don't know what is going to be offered when, it is a bit hard to plan all of your classes out, Schedule your Nursing courses and fill in with the others as they become available.

Take some time to review APA formats for writing papers. Everything is APA in this program. If you get used to that you are way ahead of the game.

Good Luck

I will only have 3 classes simultaneously. 3 of them are only 4 weeks. I'm working full time and have no intention of dropping my FTE. I got my first nursing degree while working full time so I'm not worried about this :) I'm familiar with the busy work of the online curriculum and I'm okay with that. I don't have kids/husband so my time is all my own. I know what I'm capable of, but thanks for the advice! If it gives me the heebie jeebies after looking at the syllabi, I'll drop a class. No harm done. I got my completed DARS a couple of weeks ago I think? My acceptance email is dated March 15th and my DARS was done on the 25th. I didn't have an assigned advisor so I emailed the nursing program ([email protected]) to ask about a class. Now I have an advisor.

It really depends on how many classes you need. I have 12 classes total so I just want to get it over and done with! My goal is a year but it's not set in stone. My first degree was in English Lit so writing papers/busywork isn't an issue for me. I'm finishing up my FAFSA now - work will pay about $5000 this year but any extra help will be nice!

What program are you in that has 4 week classes? Two of your classes require proctored midterms and finals (stats and nutrition). Dropping a class after the syllabus is posted could get costly if you have to do that because professors usually do not post a class or syllabus until the start date. By then, it's too late for a full refund. It sounds like you know what lies ahead so say goodbye to your free time and carry on! Good luck in the program.

I just looked and there are quite a few classes that are only 4 weeks? Well I guess technically 4 weeks 3 days. I'm in the academic outreach initiative so that might make a difference. There are some course schedules posted but it's the generic form. Business comm seems to be the worst one, and that one is actually all summer. The other 3 are short.

I get it, I get it. I'd rather have no free time for a shorter period than drag it out. I work 3 nights a week :) It's doable. Unpleasant lol but doable!

Oh, sorry, with the change from quarters to semesters I forgot May is actually summer. I would think the nursing course would still be 5 weeks, but stats and nutrition can be done as soon as the final opens up the last week and you take it. It sounds like you have everything plotted out, have a plan and are motivated. That's half the battle.

I want to take 3 classes summer term 1 and they wont let me enroll in psy 1110. Says I didnt met reqs. I dont know why. I got an A in a D005 math class. Does anyone know what the reqs are for psy 1110. Am I missing something????
