4550- Evidence Based Nursing

Nursing Students Ohio University

From looking at the classes starting in fall, I'm guessing that Evidence Based nursing is replacing Research? Anyone have any idea if stats is still required prior to taking this, as it was with Research?

Just took my test....Can't believe how hard it was. Here I've been planning on going for my Master's and now I am really having second thoughts. Maybe I will take all my time to travel instead :)

That is EXACTLY how I am feeling. I feel so deflated. These tests are awful. I studied and read for hours...it's the wording of the questions for me. It would have made absolutely no difference if I had studied until Sun. I still would've failed. Some of them came down to a guess. I honestly finished that test today and thought "this is the way the universe is trying to tell you to forget grad school." I am just praying I pass the course so i can graduate this year. :crying2:

I feel the same way. I read and reread and even went onto the book website to study the chapter quizzes and it didn't seem to help a whole lot. I am sure we will pass but probably not with the grade we wanted and worked hard for.

I studied all that as well. It doesn't help when the questions are worded the way they are. Maybe it's just the way I read them. Someone who's taken this class said there was a high fail rate for this class. I find I am down to the last minute on the clock. I bombed this one. Good luck everyone. This class is hurting my confidence big time. :(

Oh dear. I'm so sorry. I bet I'm going to bomb it too. And I'll be thinking the same thing you did...if I'm going to be able to go to grad school.

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I HATE HATE HATE this textbook. This stuff is not that hard, yet I find it very difficult to follow.

Sounds like this may be another course like Family Nursing where you could study study study and still not do well?

Feeling bad for you guys....that will be me in February ....sending  your way. Don't let one ridiculous class bring you down!!!! I bet you all pass!!!

Specializes in Hematology/Oncology.

Seriously starting to freak out about quiz 2. I've written down notes on the study guide, I wrote out the questions from week 2 learning objectives and have taken notes answering those, as well as the questions from the beginning of each chapter....and I've written out all the key words and definitions! I've put way more studying/thought into this than I have any of my other classes. Scared that I've read high fail rate :( hate putting all this time and effort feeling like you're set up to fail. I'll likely wait until Sunday to do my quiz. Still have notes to take on chapter 6, my 9 year old has his first football game tomorrow, going to watch a girlfriends sons game afterwards, then off tothe county fair for a bit. Then, if I have time...study. Is it wrong of me to hope it rains, hard, tomorrow??

Oh no, I spent the last 3 hours on the Evolve web site taking the fake tests and reviewing my wrong answers. I thought that would help. But you said it didn't help either. Did the study guide help at all?

I hope you have a wonderful Saturday...trust me, it sounds like you're more than prepared for the quiz. I think there's a bit of luck involved, lol! I wish you well. I did better on the first quiz and I thought it was tough. No matter how much more time I could've spent on it I don't think it would've made a difference. Hope it goes well for you!

I have not yet received a grade for the lit review assigned last week... it sounds like everyone else received this days ago...?

Grades for my section posted sometime yesterday. Not sure when everyone else got their grades. If no grade by end of day, I would email the TA and ask.

Just took quiz 2. I wonder what it would take to get a good grade on these things. I have studied more than in any class, including Stats, and still got 6 wrong. Some of the questions were on things I couldn't even find in the book. Some of you guys are way further ahead of me in terms of the number of nursing classes you have taken, and you are struggling as well. Just doesn't seem right...

I found this quiz difficult as well. Read the chapters again before taking it wrote notes and still missed 9. I don't know how better to study for these things. The questions are worded in a way that is difficult to comprehend.
