    When my wife was a resident one spanish speaking pt somewhere heard the word "gastric" and wanted to name her son that. They had to get a priest to talk her out of it. :chuckle

    THOR is a good norse name. Right up there with Gustav and Odin. In many countries overseas the old names are coming back. Better than 5 Brittaney's like there are in my son's class...

    I knew there was a name i forgot to add to my previous post....there is a local Dr here....a plastic surgeon no less, whos name is Dr Pancake...geez..lol

    Da Miracle was a pt's name b/c her mom was in a car accident when she was pregnant and the baby was a miracle.

    I live in WI also and worked with a nurse in L&D whose last name was spelled Docktor. Maybe that's it?

    Oh yes- I almost forgot this one- not a baby name but worth mentioning- there is a gynocologist in my area named Dr. Leroy Stiff (YIKES)!

    I'm from Arkansas originally; there are some pretty strange names in my family.

    Great grandmother- Shug (pronounced shoog)
    Great aunt- Chubby
    Grandfather- Burnin Dale
    Grandmothers- Martha Bell and Delcie
    Uncle- Elvis (however, this was before the King of Rock)
    Niece- Amerra (named after a college friend of my mom's who was from India-means "princess")
    Nephew- Houston (after my half-sister's grandfather)

    I went to high school with a set of twins named April and May, the bad things was their last name was June.
    A couple in my home town named their daughter Keepers Bailey Thompson.

    We have a two strange names in our family my fathers name is Corrin pronounced Core-in.(like apple Core and the word in) my brother just had a son and named him Tell because they liked the name from a louise lamour book.

    I know a young man with the name Corrin. Turns out it is his mother's maiden name. I like it, but he says sometimes he gets called "Corrine" pronounced like the girl's name. I remember my grandmother's best friend's husband's name was Tell.
