In L&D the largest baby I witnessed being born was 10 pounds.

The story doesn't mention if mom had GD...

yikes! Mine were both 10 pounders lol

...when my husband and I went to the nursery window everyone exclaimed, especially with our daughter "Who had that 11 pound baby?" It was almost embarassing to admit it was me, I got alot of strange looks. :chuckle

You reminded me -

The next day, when I went to the nursery to tell them I was ready to bring the baby back to my room, I told the nurse my name, and she went to look for the right baby.

I said, "She was the 10-pounder," and the nurse immediately knew exactly which bassinet to go to! (And of course then proceeded to check ID bands, etc.)

I guess there is a reason why God gave me 5lb. preemies!

I work in the NICU and we got called down to a delivery a couple days ago for fetal distress and the baby was 11 lb 9 oz and it was a lady partsl delivery:rotfl: ! I don't know how they got that baby out, but it lookied difficult. No wonder the baby was in fetal distress, the way the Drs were pulling on that baby!!

My late husband was a 12 pounder born at home.

This thread reminded of Sunday. We had all gathered at my dad's home for fathers' day. Of course our kids and our kids kids were there. My grandbaby had her 1st birthday Sat so we were celebrating that too.

My sisters' grandbaby is 5 months old. He's bigger than my grandbaby!

Of course, my grandbaby's mom just barely makes 5' and her whole family is not much taller than that and my sister's daughter married a guy taller than her. (My sons are all big like their daddy, my late husband that came in at 12 Lbs.)

So funny looking at them next to each other, the grand-nephew is a normal 5 month old, just a big un and my granddaughter is a normal 1 yr old, just a tiny one. She was full term at 5lb 3.5oz with apgars at 9 and 10.
