Nurse interview

Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

Hi! I need to interview a nurse for an intro to nursing course. If someone could answer the following questions and upload a picture of themselves it'd be a huge help!

1. Where do you work?

2. Type of practice? (Hospital, school, etc)

3. Educational background

4. What's a typical workday like for you?

5. Do you participate in any nursing organizations?

6. What do you like most about nursing?

7. What would you like to change about the field of nursing?

8. Any advice for a nursing student/ future nurse?

Specializes in Psych (25 years), Medical (15 years).

Okay. Time to stop fooling around.

1. Where do you work?

WRMC (Wrongway Regional Medical Center)

2. Type of practice? (Hospital, school, etc)

Well, it's a big building with lots of patients, so yeah, I'd say it was an etc.

3. Educational background

Associate's degree. I started in January of 1976 and finished in May of 1990.

That is the honest-to-God's truth of what it says on my transcript. Yes, ladies and gentlemen (except you, OldDude) it took me 14 years to complete a two year program at LCCC-Larry & Curly Community College! (I was in the accelerated program.)

4. What's a typical workday like for you?

I work nights.

5. Do you participate in any nursing organizations?

It's like Groucho Marx said, "I wouldn't want to participate in any nursing organization that would have me as a member".

6. What do you like most about nursing?

Oh, a lot of things. Or, to be more specific, a lot of stuff.

7. What would you like to change about the field of nursing?
What would I like to change in the field of nursing? Change takes dedication, commitment, and hard work! I'd like to change that. Make change easier.

8. Any advice for a nursing student/ future nurse?

Just being courteous will open many doors for you.

But not as many as those automatic door openers.

Would love to see the OP turn this in and report back. I'd give her an A+++

Thanks for not letting your principles on this get in the way of "helping" her. Your answers cracked me up! :roflmao:

I do wonder, though, if she is truly lazy or simply lost. She's not asking for something she can research or work out on her own; she's trying to interview someone. While I agree that she did it the wrong way, perhaps she just didn't know who to ask?

Thank you, FZ Student Nurse!

There was some truth in my answers, but you know- anonymity and stuff...

We learn by association and repetition and those are the ways we become proficient at our jobs. As nurses, we perform the same tasks over and over again and find systematic approaches in an endeavor to be efficacious and effective.

Speaking of repetition and systematic approaches, I've found that there are several areas here on AN.com that are regularly discussed. I've some made memes and cartoons that I can use over and over again with very little editing. The "Lazy Student" meme was one of them, so I appreciate you giving Maddiegirl, due to her inexperience, the benefit of a doubt!

Hey, Sally! That's a great idea!

And I'm sure the Chief of Police could give Maddiegirl a front/side view photo of you good enough to be able to pick you out of a lineup!
