Ode to Urbane Scrubs

My first scrubs were purchased at a discount chain at $14 a set. I had to make returns because the XS tops were too small and the S sets were too big, and I'm stuck with the ones nonrefundable due to wearing. I later went to another scrub store and discovered Urbane Scrubs, and I am never going back to regular scrubs. They cost about $43 per set, but the extra coin is worth it. Other companies are copying the curve-hugging fit, which is great because soon it recognizes male and female bodies as having different needs.

I used to think that brand name and tailored scrubs were frivolous and vain encouragment for high school-esque fashion shows. This is before I discovered scrubs specially designed for the female figure. Most scrubs were not made to be unisex. Men have straight up-and-down figures that are suited fine for boxy scrubs, but women have hips and breasts. The tops can be too tight around the hips but feel too baggy around the top, both of which makes lifting uncomfortable. The bottoms are straight-legged and give no extra room in the hips or butt, which can be a risk for ripping and wedgies. Buying larger sizes is not a panacea because sleeves and pant legs may drag in messes or catch on things, too much extra fabric can chafe, and they will undoubtedly be too loose in every other area except the hips or butt. Urbanes Scrubs tops are flared at the bottoms, which allows women to have nice childbearing hips. Fabric quality is another issue. My cheapo scrubs are scratchy and stiff even after a load full of Downy, but my Urbane Scrubs are softer but stiff enough to stay wrinkle-free. I love Urbane!
