Are You Gel'n

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Ok, so I've notice the shoe topic has been popular lately. I'm starting my first semester in less than a week. I'll most likely get the all white Shox. I've found that for me personally, Nike is always the best fit and most comfortable.

So the real question is, do any of you use inserts? I never have, but I think I may consider it now. I've been at my desk job for about 8 years now, and I'm a little worried about being on my feet all day.

Nah, I've never gotten used to having foreign objects in my shoes. Nike Shox are the only shoes I've worn to work as a nurse. Every year I design a new pair as a gift to myself....

I was Gel'n until my feet were a tel'n me to get some other inserts. I know use an incremental system by Barefoot Science. My feet, back and legs used to ache after long days on the floor, but now I feel so much lifted off of me. I still am sore after pounding my feet on concrete floors all day, but nothing like before.

You know what I love about nursing?

That we will get to wear sneakers to work. Silly but true. :w00t:

Nike Air, baby.

Thanks for the input. I just ordered some Brooks from Zappos. I have to have all white and all leather, so I'm limited for school, but I agree it is nice to be able to wear sneakers to work.

I found a nice pair of Air's but they had too much color. Oh well. I'm gonna try out the Brooks and guess I'll get inserts if I need them.

Inserts never seemed to stay put, after awhile they would start getting bunched up by my toes and causing problems. I have not tried any recently though, maybe they have improved?

Thanks for the recommendation. I just ordered Barefoot Science from HSN. I figure it's worth a try with their 30 day money back gaurentee.

I have been wearing them since around Thanksgiving and my feet never felt better. i am at a size 4 now and am about ready to go up to the 5. My feet continue to thank me every day.

They arrived today...starting with level 1. Wish me luck!

I can not believe that I found CHEAP, comfortable shoes that help at WALMART of all places. I was ready to spend another $150 on shoes and got Dr. Scholls (Gel'n) black cute "duty" shoes called Bernice. They look like Danskos and are so seriously comfy. My feet ALWAYS hurt and these shoes are great and cheap!! I also tried the Cherokee Rockers Harmony and they feel nice too. Has anyone else tried these affordable options???

I just got a pair of the new Bistro Crocs.......Love'em! I am a fan of Crocs anyway. I also love my Shox.....I switch between the two my feet & legs never hurt.

I have a pair of Dansko's that I have had for a year and they are my favorite.

I have high arches and if I stand for even short periods, my feet HURT - I wear inserts in all my shoes except the dansko's. The inserts were expensive when I bought them, but I have had them for 7 years....
