Puerto Rico school feedback - thread #2

Wow after 9 years and 1336 posts they closed our thread because it was too long.

The original thread and all the helpful posts can be found here:

https://allnurses.com/international-nursing/puerto-rico-school-28678.html

There are 134 pages in that thread but the last 130 pages were from 2010 and beyond and there is a ton of helpful info in there. Hopefully the current students will continue this thread as I graduate this month. Please try to read that thread at least a little bit before posting your questions here as it is very likely your question has been asked and answered on the other thread more than once.

Good luck on whatever path you choose!

For those of you starting the accelerated program at La Inter this August, what have you been told in terms of registration, orientation, and anything else that needs to be done before classes start? I am getting contradictory information about when I have to be down there and I am trying to get as many similar answers on dates before I buy my ticket/leave my job for good. Thanks!
Hi, i just went down there to register for classes ( not accelerated this term).... but Dr. * told me there is orientation this thursday, well tomorrow, and there is another orientation july 13. If i were you i would try to come a week before that... july 13 or few days before to register. and the term officially starts august 1, on a wednesday.

i ended up running in old san juan up and down the hills of el morro :) i did see lots of people running!

Hey guys,

Is anyone in the non-accelerated program at La-Inter. I have some questions that I would like to ask.

I just want to congratulate everyone who graduated! I will not be attending this year as I originally hoped. But I still want to thank Designer Mommy, World Traveling Yogi, Jen, Calhoon, and everyone else who helped with all of the questions over the years.

Congrats again!

How did you switch to the accelerated program? Did you have all your basic classes done?

Thanks

Hello, i haven't done the switch yet from non-accelearted to accelerated. But what the director told me that i can switch to accelerated program once i have all my general education classes done, she said they can MAYBE make expectation if i only have one general education class to take for november term.

But yes to answer your question have to have all basic/general education classes finished for the accelerated program.

Hi Txlvn44,

I'm not sure if I will be attending next year. I was planning on going this year, but some circumstances came up that require me to stay. I actually just applied to my local program tonight, so if I'm accepted, then I won't be going there. But I'm still hoping to be able to.

I'll keep you posted. I know you've been looking at this school for a long time, like I have. It would be great if we could attend at the same time. I'll let you know if I go.

I will attending La Inter in August and contacted someone from the Dept of Nursing and was informed that the final Transfer/New Student orientation is on July 13th. It was also suggested that you arrive early within days to confirm you registration for August classes. Therefore I will be leaving out of Michigan on July 9 or 10th and trying to confirm housing prior to arriving via a current La Inter student.

Just wanted to give a heads up to people who will be moving to PR soon, especially those going to La Inter that people are selling stuff like desks and beach stuff and whatnot on the La Inter Enfunmeria facebook page. I don't think I can post the link here, but if you are going to Inter, you are probably already a member so go check it out. Hopefully this is not against the TOS since I am not trying to sell anything here. I just wanted new people to be able to save some money because shiz is expensive here!! One of the old students has said they will hold things (the ex Pres of the Nursing Association) for people who are not coming until later.
