Puerto Rico school feedback - thread #2

Wow after 9 years and 1336 posts they closed our thread because it was too long.

The original thread and all the helpful posts can be found here:

https://allnurses.com/international-nursing/puerto-rico-school-28678.html

There are 134 pages in that thread but the last 130 pages were from 2010 and beyond and there is a ton of helpful info in there. Hopefully the current students will continue this thread as I graduate this month. Please try to read that thread at least a little bit before posting your questions here as it is very likely your question has been asked and answered on the other thread more than once.

Good luck on whatever path you choose!

I do realize that this thread is pretty old but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. I am a student who was dismissed from my nursing program during my senior semester, so that means most of my BSN required courses are already completed. I am looking for a school that will give me credit for some of my classes, so that I will not have to start all over. I have already submitted my application online, and have not yet sent in my official transcripts or course descriptions. I was interested in joining in November, however with the lackadaisical approach from admissions, I'm sure that may be a struggle. I am simply looking for a school where I can get in, get my degree, and get out. Does anyone know of any cases where people have been admitted to La Inter and were given credit for the nursing theory they have taken at other programs? And for someone in my case, which trimester does the transfer student usually start in? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That was answered throughout this thread already, you need to do some searching a few pages before.

I know of students who have had previous nursing courses from states approved with no problem. As to which trimester/sequence you enter depends on courses taken. You would follow the sequence of program minus any courses already taken/transferred (approved). As far as admission to the program after being dismissed from another nursing school, well, that I do not know.

Hello!

I've been browsing through this forum and have a general idea about applications pre-2015, but was hoping to see if anyone had information from 2016 forward.

I'm a prospective nursing student for the Fall Accelerated BSN program. I have a Bachelors of Science in Public Health, and could probably have most of my GE req's transferred, and take the remaining online in the summer.

My concern is that I have a job that goes through August, so I probably wouldn't make the August 1st start date. Any instances where the accelerated program students could start in November? I wouldn't mind staying Nov '16 - '18.

Thank you in advance!
