I am looking for information on why you picked the online RN-BSN or whatever program you are doing. What factors made the school you picked the school you wanted to attend? The cost, the classes that you already had, anything that you can share with me would be great. I want to do all of it online.

I chose an on-line BSN course because I'm not overly excited with the class room setting...I also liked the idea of being able to attend "class" in my jammies! It's also alot more flexable to my job. I chose FHCHS because the price is one of the best, it accepted alot of my previous credits & there's not as many co-reqs I'd have to take. Also, I got good feedback about the program.

I will be doing generals with TCN but online nursing with ISU one and only reason it's the only distant learning approved by the CA BON....... so really no choice, I needed the flexibilty cause I work mon-fri 8-5 so traditional school for RN is out.

I chose an online BSN program because it allowed me to set the pace and continue working while attending. I need to keep the income. My oldest is a college student as well.

Bottom line - MONEY/CONVENIENCE. It was a lot cheaper than most colleges. I don't have to pay for gas to get to the class and it is a lot more convenient than having to go to class rather than jumping on the computer. I didn't have to quit work either. You will be able to do almost everything from your computer. The schools have online libraries. I research nursing articles out of nursing journals online through UWYO's online library. There have only been a few instances where I had to go out to do something for class. It's much easier than going to school and I don't mean the classes are easier, it's just more convenient. I don't have to change clothes, take a bath, fix my hair or put on makeup to attend these classes (this is what I mean by easier).

I chose online because I was homeschooling my children when I decided to embark on this journey. They are in school now but I just prefer the flexibility of online. I chose ISU because 1)it is an established brick and mortar school vs a virtual school and 2)it's important to me to have clinical hours for the experience you gain and also to make contacts for job hunting. I love doing clinicals on my own with a preceptor because you don't have to share patients with other students and take turns and all that. The one on one is unbeatable.

I chose the Excelsior distance program to try to finish an ASN. I was unable to complete a BSN program due to life circumstances and this is the only available way to get the RN at this point.
