Hi All, I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think? I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this... Read More

Most of the time you get instant results - just like the quizes. This semester our pharm exams have a few answers that had to be typed out, thus graded by an actual person so we got the results of most of the exam but are waiting to see how we did on the short answers.

First semester is exclusively multiple choice (was last semester anyway) so don't worry- the tests are just like the quizes, in fact I found it very helpful to study the quizes for the exams.

How is Pharm so far? Pretty nervous about having second semester in the accelerated summer. Just wanted to check in with current students and see how it is?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi everyone,

I have a question/adivice...I am takingmy last 3 prereq and I am planning to apply for August. However, I got a call today to ask me if I would like to apply for June. I will finish the classes May 3rd so they will not have my grades before they make their decision. I am sure many of you know this ....she said summer they dont have as many applicants...or maybe they just trying to have more people to choose from. I am confused and I know I probably not be accepted for June but I would like to see what your opinion is
    thanks

Go for it! In our case we were told that if we weren't accepted we would automatically be considered for the next cohort, without having to apply or pay application fees again, so there was no risk. You can ask if that's the case now. I think summer might be a tough time to start because it's so condensed (11 weeks instead of 16), but then the rest of the program will probably feel like a relative breeze.

I would go for it as well. The sooner you start - the sooner you graduate!
Don't worry about your final 3 grades, people in my cohort were accepted before their final grades were posted. As long as you do well in those classes, it won't be a problem!

I guess I am also worried that I had a plan staying with the kids home....my 2nd kid is only 7 months now so I was thinking I will be home till she is 1....I know it is hard to just think about changing....but then if I can start early it is also good

I would start early. I started in June and I think it was the best, that way the two hardest semesters (2nd and 3rd) are done over the long semesters, 16 weeks each. I personally think this is the best, especially because the 4th and final semester is shorter too.

    Good luck!

Anyone applying for Summer 2009. I was originally going to apply for Fall 2009, but received a call asking if I wanted to apply for the June start date.
I still have 2 classes in progress, but if I don't get in then I'll just reapply again.

They are letting you apply with courses not finished? They told me I had to have everything finished before applying! Did they tell you how many applied last time? I want to know my chances...

They said I could apply with courses in progress. I had thought I had to wait to apply until they were finished, but I got a call asking if I wanted to switch my application to Summer 2009 instead of Fall 2009. The lady I spoke with was aware of my classes in progress and wanted to know when they ended.

She didn't tell me how many people applied and I didn't ask either. I probably should have.

What location are you looking to apply to?

I just dropped off my transcripts today and they told me I could apply for Summer as well. I still have 3 prereqs in progress and two of them are sciences. I haven't decided yet what to do but if anyone else has any thoughts I'd love to hear them. I was planning on working through the summer to save up a little more $$$ but maybe it would be better to be done sooner? I did ask if I would have to reapply for Fall if I didn't get in and she said I would.

I was thinking the same thing...about working during the summer to make extra $$ and then hopefully starting in fall. But I think I would rather just start in the summer and get going. I think classes start in early June for the summer start.
Where did you drop off your transcripts? I am going to mail mine after I order them.
Are you applying for Glendale or San Diego?
Glad to find someone else applying for summer!
