Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Nursing Students School Programs Nursing Q/A

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

do you have the WWF wrestler (just in name) as ur prof? lol

I'm waiting to hear back on what classes I'll need. Hoping it's not more than you guys have already found!

Got my answer back. Plenty of credits to transfer in, all electives and general ed for bachelor's met, all that is left is the nursing core classes: the same 12 classes they list on their website as required for BSN from their school. I would start at #1 and work my way through :)

Time to find some MONEY!

I guess it is quite common just to have the 12 "Nursing" (NRS) classes left, if you have your Associates degree. I count myself fortunate that I do not have to take NRS 427 & 437...then again I do require HLT 306 & 308, which hopefully I test out of.

On the positive side..the boss of the 2 counselors(Enrollment & Academic) that I have been dealing with called today and wanted to make sure all my questions had been answered and that I have been treated well. She was a nice lady and had a good chat. Thus far has been a very good experience. Shall see how it goes once class commences on Sep 30th!!

Come on hurry up and start on Sep 30th and keep me company, lol

LOL, I don't see that happening just yet! My advisor/counselor put a start date of early October in place, just to get the evaluation done, etc. But until I get a job situation settled (as in, I expect to be having a new one in the next month) AND find some $$, it's going to need to wait a bit. Not long, but not in the next couple of weeks, either.

Don't worry, I'll be checking in on you :)

I'm in class 5 of 11 (Statistics) easy, but what to talk about in the discussion forums?

(boring)

You must be a math person. (I know, stats isn't math, lol). I suffered through it and got it done. Totally agree on the discussion forum. Wait until you get to research. More statistical fun. I just wrapped up my last paper today. A CLC with a slacking member.

Yes, having a twin works well. I have a twin that I met on AN. We have all our classes together. ?

It is nice to have the support.

tokmom,

Did you have a good experience with NRS429v? I am getting ready to begin this class on 9/30. I have quite an interesting time with the first course NRS430v. Just want to make sure I am well prepared before heading into this next course. :-)

Thx!

What was "interesting" about the first course---NRS430V? I start that on Sep 30th

A week to day #1 of the course!! And wife departs on Wednesday for nearly 3 weeks--there goes my proof reader, lol Not a big fan of school, but time to put on the big boy pants and suck it up!!

You mean Health Assessment jbates? Yeah, I haven't really had any problems. It does have a lot of homework though. I had the unfortunate event of my laptop crashing and paying Best Buy buckets of money to extract my information.

if there are any questions I can help with let me know. :)
