Nursing Students Online Learning

Is anyone working on the online RN to BSN from Texax Tech? Is it really as short and inexpensive as the website makes it sound? Any details or opinions about the program would be appreciated!

Would you all say this program is appropriate for a busy, full-time working mother wanting to take classes part-time? Or is it better for someone that can be a full-time student? Thank you,
Wendy

@Charis16 - How are you enjoying the program so far? What do you like and what don't you like? (I'm starting in January)

hello..all i am half way through this program....last semester my tuition was $3600 this did not include books and those were about $400 or so... i am taking the summer and fall semester then graduating in december. it is 2 semesters and 15 hour each. they stagger the courses so you are taking no more than 9 hours at a time. on class last the entire semester then 2 courses last 5 weeks ...you get done with those and take 2 more 5 week courses...however, for the summer you end up cramming 15 hours in 10 weeks...uggg i am so tired of school i need a break.....now there are lots of papers and some group assignments. you cannot get behind but the teachers are nice and real flexible. over all it has been a good program and experience for me. for the last semester you have the option to replace your elective with a masters level quality in health care course. of course you have to apply and be accepted to the course...i will let you know how that goes. is there any specific questions you have...i would be glad to answer them....
txspadequeenrn,
congratulations on your upcoming graduation! did you ever take the last semester elective course that would count for a masters course? if you did, i'm just wondering what are the requirements to apply for the master's program.
thanks!

yes i did...it aint no play course either. for this class you have to apply and be accepted but it was fairly easy. it prepares you for the cphq exam. they give you every option to do well in this course but it is not easy considering you have other courses to complete as well. i am in the middle of taking finals and have a 86 average in this course....i will hopefully get a a in this masters class. i do not know the requirements for the masters program as i am taking the spring and summer off from class. this experience has left me not even caring if i get a masters degree or not....i suspect my attitude towards school will change next year some time but right now i need a break....

It's been about 1.5 yrs since you graduated from the TTU program. What do you do now? My son is going to TTU in Lubbock and I want to take the online program rn-bsn. Just wondering about return on commitment. I went to ACC and graduated in 12/2010; have been working ever since. There are some certifications I' like to get, but can't without the BSN. Thanks!
