CPNE workshops??? HELP!!!

Nursing Students Online Learning

I can't believe people charge over $600 for their workshops!! Does anyone know of any cheaper they would recommend? I know Tina's is $650, and Sheri Taylor's is $597. That is the cheapest one I found so far, but I just don't know how it is worth it if I would have to travel with a flight costing me over $200. I mine as well take Excelsior's workshop for 700 or 800, whatever it is!! I am so bummed :crying2: Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Lynn Frederick's class was GREAT www.clinicalprepexam.com

I graduated in 2007 and went to her workshop twice.......passed without any retakes...

She is great and has a lot of resources.

Has anyone used this site as an alternate for traveling to a workshop?

I used both the classroom workshop and the online version, both were very helpful in helping me pass the CPNE. The amount of support you will receive from Sheri is more the worth the cost of the class.

Good luck to you

I went to http://www.clinicalprepexam.com

It was before right when I became CPNE eligible. A lot to learn and totally worth it.

Cons: a lot of fan fare for Jesus that is not pertinent to everyone.

I've emailed her for advice since CPNE is soon and haven't heard from her.

I have to thank my 3 students above for the kind words:flwrhrts:

3 of the workshops Lynn's, Sheri's and mine the NEC Workshop in Pa have care planning assistance and support after the "Physical" Hands-on Workshop aspect. Tina in Cal does not have care planning after a workshop, but she is also only a phone call away to answer questions. And did you know that you can send care plans and questions to EC and they will critique/ answer you for free? Yep for free!

So it all depends on what you need... and not everyone needs a Workshop to pass CPNE. Just please don't think your 3-30 years of Nursing or medic practice will give you what you need to pass CPNE. CPNE is nursing school and it's a game. You need to learn the rules and play the game the EC way.

The best of luck to you!

T-lo......How do I send careplans to EC? Where could I get sample lab simulations to practice at home with? (a form like they actually use at the CPNE with sample situations)

Careplans you can submit via the message center on EC's website. I can't remember off hand exactly what you have to put on the subject line, something about CPNE care plan, yada, yada. Just type in your care plan. Be sure to sign your name and put your student ID. I submitted my first care plan last week and am waiting for a reply. Sigh. There are some practice scenarios on EC's website but I don't remember how to get to them. Found them once and printed them out.

I submitted mine last week via the message center, I believe on Monday and I still have not heard back. I got my PCS1 from Nursing Discussion board>Associate Degree>Patient Care Scenario (right under the CPNE EPN BOARD) I thought we could also submit care plans that were from the EC Workbook.

I was doing a Workshop this past weekend so I haven't had the chance to read messges. But here's the directions to end work to EC. Students can also find this information on the EC site. Hope it helps:)

To better meet your needs, the Excelsior College Nurse Faculty have developed PCS scenarios for you to use in developing care plans and documentation and have revised the guidelines for submission of care plans and documentation to the CPNE® message center. Beginning May 2, 2011, you may submit your care plans (planning and evaluation) and the narrative documentation for one patient care scenario per week. The patient care scenarios must be from one of the following sources: Clinical Performance in Nursing Exam® Study Guide Workbooks associated with Excelsior College resources CPNE® PCS Practice Scenarios Published by the Excelsior College Faculty which can be found on the CPNE® Nursing Discussion Board (30003547) -- MyExcelsior Community/Associate Degree Level Nursing/CPNE®PCS Practice Scenarios - available May 2, 2011. Please do not scan documents or submit them as a PDF file. Submit them as a Microsoft word document and attach to the message box or type directly into the message box. Please wait for a response before submitting additional requests. This will give you the opportunity to review the critique and incorporate suggestions into subsequent submissions.
