CPNE workshops??? HELP!!!

have you looked at tina logan? took that one....loved it! it was tough, but she knows her stuff! her website is necworkshop.com and it comes with several weeks of careplans as well. she's in pennsylvania, if the travel is any easier. and sheri taylor is awesome too...i've heard great things about her. i have a friend doing some online stuff with her right now, and she likes it. it's not cheap, but i finally decided that i could spend about $1000 on a workshop/travel or i could spend $2000 to retake the cpne...passed in august on the first try, no repeats! good luck....let me know if i can help in any way! julie

You have a good point, Julie. I will have to think about it, and come up with the money. Yes, going to PA would be more convenient, as I live in NY or maybe doing some online stuff with Sheri would be an option as well. yup listen to julie and go to tina logan in pa. julie and i went to tina at the same time along with other people. you will learn tons of info from tina and you will pass the cpne. like julie, i passed first time without any repeats. yes it can be expensive but the pass at the end will make it all worth it. plus, paying another $2000 for a repeat is more money and more pressure because you can only take cpne 3x and you are out of the program.

I went to Tina Logan's workshop and I HIGHLY recomend it. It was worth every penny. She is a great teacher.

I went to Sheri Taylor's workshop and loved it. She is very supportive even after the classes, she offers care plan homework, phone counseling/emotional support, email support and even a guarantee that if you have to retake the CPNE you can do her workshop again for free. If you are planning on testing in Atlanta, she will work it out so you can go over to her workshop and practice the labs.

3 of the workshops Lynn's, Sheri's and mine the NEC Workshop in Pa have care planning assistance and support after the "Physical" Hands-on Workshop aspect. Tina in Cal does not have care planning after a workshop, but she is also only a phone call away to answer questions. And did you know that you can send care plans and questions to EC and they will critique/ answer you for free? Yep for free!

So it all depends on what you need... and not everyone needs a Workshop to pass CPNE. Just please don't think your 3-30 years of Nursing or medic practice will give you what you need to pass CPNE. CPNE is nursing school and it's a game. You need to learn the rules and play the game the EC way.

She is great and has a lot of resources.
