Exactly what books can we bring to our cpne? Inhering conflicting and to this. Also can anyone recommend a drug book? They look all similar, but I know only certain books and additions are allowed.

Thx jan

You can have anything you want in your hotel room, but on the floor you are restricted to a drug book. People bring their "collection" of study aids to the hospital, but everything except for the drug book, must be left in the conference room where you meet before going to the floor.

i second the above post. i got my calculator from walmart for $0.99 . also make sure there is no writing in any of the books, just your name. you are also allowed to use any books/references/materials that are at the nursing station.

Hey Jan

I saw your post on the epn too, and will also answer there. I am bringing my Davis Drug Guide and also those testing on the 18th edition are suppose to have Mosby's 3rd edition. Still in search of the perfect calculator, and I am also looking for a watch that has a timer (okay'd by Excelsior). Good luck! Ann

We can't have digital, only sweephand but I asked if we could have a timer on our watch and that would be fine. So far I have been unable to find such a thing, lol....

Ann, I found one at walmart before I went to NY with both a sweephand on the top and a digital with timer on the bottom. Too complicated though and was really ugly, LOL. I ended up going to Target and bought a regular watch for $10 with the biggest face I could find and it worked great. Trust me when I tell you that you will be too nervous to be pushing buttons on your watch during your lab sims (I couldn't even hold a pen my hands were so sweaty with the first one!!!) and in Syracuse where I tested there was big alarm clocks on the tables and I have heard from other students their sites did too, not sure about Madison though!

Ahh...thanks for the tip! I will not obsess about watch timer anymore. I am using a dress watch now that I got from Target (I have not worn watch in 15 years, silly...) but I want something that I can see the sweephand better. In also have an obnoxious ticking egg timer on my table as I am working away on these sims...Crazy how I am just down to the wire on time with my IVPush and I have like 10 extra minutes for my IVPB. Wanting to be done...!!!
