Congrats on finding what is best for you and your family! That sometimes is the biggest hurdle.

The issues with Chamberlain certainly brought me to pause and reflection.

    Best of luck to you!

Best of luck to you as well!!! I feel so relieved now that I've made my decision.

hospicetec, I am really sorry that you are going through this with Chamberlain. I wish you the best also!!!!

NikNik, congrats with your decision- I am glad to see you have found what works for you, I know from other posts you were really worried about Chamberlain..........and being in the program I can totally understand why you would be.....7/16 I start my 3rd semester in the ASN online program. Kris, you were in my classes-I actually emailed you regarding homeschooling. I have to say even as a student in Missouri, Chamberlain is STRESSFUL. If I did not have so much $$ sunk in student loans, I would walk away. A girl in my last semester went to Jewish and they will accept her nursing classes, which is great, but I just do not think I can do the day program with 3 children and a husband who travels. Today I need to place another call to the school , imagine that-I received a box full of ATI books........I have heard people mention ATI, but do not know what it is-anyone know? Plus I still have not gotten my printed schedule, but this has been normal...........anyway, it is a struggle, but as long as I pass the NCLEX at the end it will ALL be worth it!

The ATI books are a review of all the nursing classes to help you pass the ATI exams and the NCLEX. They are really good! They are sent to all students. They helped me alot.

So when do I take the ATI test? I know all about the NCLEX, but this is the first I've heard of the ATI.........I left a message for the person who sent them at Chamberlain, but of course no reply as of yet.

You start taking ATI at the end of each semester beginning at the end of Med Surg I. You will get the dates from your theory instructor as the time nears. It is usually the week before or week of validations. Hope this helps.

I have heard good things about ATI also. I have a friend that just graduated from In-class at Chamberlain and said it was great. I am looking into Chamberlain, Jewish and SLU. I've heard bad things about Jewish also so who knows which way to go. It seems that those that have had one bad experience become negative about the whole experience. I think its what we make of it. With exception for those being in the middle of a program and told that is over. Couldn't imagine. WOW

thank you so much about the info for the ATI! Is it only Chamberlain that does this, or do other Nursing schools have these tests?

About Jewish, a girl from my last semester(her second in Chamberlain too) decided not to return this next semester and is starting Jewish in January. She said that Jewish actually has taken her nursing classes, which I was surprised to hear!

    Hospicetec,

I'm very sorry to see this happen to you!!!

I'm am legally represented as well - Chamberlain did the same thing to us basically (no clinicals) 3 years ago.........I think our attorneys should talk........

It was good talking with you Nadja9. Seems there are many, many more of us out there with this dilemma. I would love to hear from anyone that has had problems with being able to set up Chamberlain's clinicals for online students. Is there anyone out there who actually completed them and was allowed to take the state test? Let me hear from you please?

I graduated from the online program in 2005 and had no trouble taking the boards. I live in TN

Thanks for replying rnrae! Did they allow you to do clinicals in Tn? They are withdrawing me from the program because they aren't allowed here.

The hospital I worked in as a Tech allowed me to do my clinicals there. I know someone that did his at Centennial.

Dont' know why they're not allowed anymore. All I can say is that I'm so thankful that I was able to finish the program! Sorry everyone is having such a hard time with Deaconess (Chamberlain).

There are a few others on here, too, that were able to finish.

However, there are many who spent lots of money that could never find clinical placement.

I don't buy this explanation from Chamberlain that because of program changes, they have to reapprove throught each state board. There has to be much more to this story because they've made changes over the last couple of years without incident. And now, they must pull out of EVERY state but 2???? Very interesting.

It sadens me for all students this has affected. I wish you all well. Hang in there!
