  1. I've never heard of it.
  2. You know.......I've been a CNA for 6 years and now I'm 2 years into a 4 year BSN program. The very best advice I can give you is to get back in school! CNA work is hard work! As the years go by, your back hurts, your legs hurt, your shoulders hurt........not to mention the pay for all that hard work is really sad. Every facility is always understaffed and chance of advancement is pretty much zero. Don't get me wrong, I love working for hospice! A adore my patients and families. But, I can do much less lifting and get 3 x the money as a hospice nurse! Also, I go to lots of facilities and know lots of techs who are stuck in the same system I was.......Get ahead, while you can.
  3. I'm in the middle of a lawsuit with them......they've paid off some but the loan for my books and I borrowed to come to St Louis for validations.....they are still left hanging right now. I'm contacting the media if they don't settle soon. I'm tired of dealing with these weasles.
  4. rnrae, I'm so happy that you made it through. Just be glad you went when you did. I sure wish I had went earlier.
  5. I'm just trying to warn those of you not to fall into what I did with Chamberlain. After 9 mos of horrific studying, traveling to St Louis for validations, and even being on the dean's list, I was completely withdrawn from the program 'with no options' because there were no clinical placements in my state. They offered me $1,000 to keep my mouth shut! We have filed suit. My lawyer just emailed to tell me that they have 'officially' been served. I had no idea about 'treble' damages. When I saw the amount...I could not believe it! They will get what they deserve.
  6. Anyone else out there who was unwillingly "withdrawn" from Chamberlain? My lawsuit gets filed on Mon.15th. I've got 2 lawyers in on it now. It's not costing me a dime. They know we've got a tremendous case and they get 1/3 of damages. I just wondered how many others were affected? My case may help yours. If we can prove they knew clinicals could not be done when they 'sold' the program to me.......we can get mega damages. Please contact me if you are in the same boat! Thanks
  7. Well, My attorney says we have a great case. They know they are guilty as sin or they wouldn't have sent me the release to sign and offer of $1,000 compensation. She said that was so sweet of them! I contacted several local tv stations and 1 has emailed me back and said it sounds 'interesting'. Anyone else out there who could not complete clinicals with Chamberlain, please let us know. I've talked to several already. Thanks
  8. I started in 10/06.......is that when you started? We probably were in some classes together. DeVry (Chamberlain) paid off all my government loans and grants last week. I knew they would have to do that. They certainly didn't want to be in hot water with the Fed. Gov....It's just like I never existed! ..I've just wasted almost a year of my life with them. And lots and lots of anguish. I did well on the tests cause I studied so hard and put my all into it. I spent a lot of $$ to come to St.Louis for validations. I really fell for this program.....hook, line and sinker. I thought I was gonna become a nurse. Do I sound bitter? I guess so. I just want them to pay for what they did. There are others that have been through this too.
  9. Hey ya'll, Just a reminder......be very careful about this school. After almost 1 year of studying, planning, working (being on the dean's list)..and pouring my heart and soul into this program......they withdrew me from the program because they have no approval from my state for clinicals. They offered me $1,000 to keep my mouth shut and to sign the release they sent me. I took it to an attorney. We are sueing them now. Everyone that is in nursing classes knows that the struggle is worth more than $1,000! They tell me that Chamberlain offered a program that they did not have the right to offer.....something about the consumer protection act? The TN state board of nursing said Chamberlain NEVER sought to gain approval! Oh well, we will see what a judge says. Just a warning, don't trust them.
  10. "Web based studients residing in states that have not yet granted approval to Chamberlain may be required to complete the clinical experiences in another state. Students should contact the National Clinical coordinator for the current state approval status." Unfortunately, I was not given this info when I was accepted into the program 8/06......I also was not given an option of going to a different state to do clinicals. So.....after almost a year of being on the Dean's List at Chamberlain......they won't even let me come to St.Louis for a week or 2 at a time to do clinicals. I begged to do that at my own expense. They said they were withdrawing me and offered $1000 for me to keep my mouth shut. Obviously, I didn't accept.
  11. nadja9, I didn't get it. Did you email it?
  12. nadja9, I mailed you a copy of the so called settlement they offered me. Let me know what you think of it!
  13. Thanks for replying rnrae! Did they allow you to do clinicals in Tn? They are withdrawing me from the program because they aren't allowed here.
  14. It was good talking with you Nadja9. Seems there are many, many more of us out there with this dilemma. I would love to hear from anyone that has had problems with being able to set up Chamberlain's clinicals for online students. Is there anyone out there who actually completed them and was allowed to take the state test? Let me hear from you please?
  15. That was the first thing my attorney asked me to find out! I emailed and called dozens of nursing schools......all have said no, they won't transfer. Most schools have nursing programs that you get accepted into and complete. In other words, I've been told that the classes intermingle with one another. As for Chamberlain/DeVry credits......no one has told me they accept the credits. If you knew how much I studied and how hard I worked at the classes and tests and nursing care plan and essays and going to St.Louis for validations........you would understand why I'm so upset with them. Thanks for the email.
