Hi, I was just accepted to chamberlain for March 2007. I was wondering if anyone else will be starting then? I was also wondering if any of you who started in october would be willing to share your opinion of the program. Thanks

Specializes in ICU.

Are you in the RN - BSN program? I will be starting this in April 07. I was wondering if anyone as completed this program and if they have any advice?

I keep trying to answer you guys but my reply's haven't gotten posted. This is just a test. If it works, I'll reply. Marie P.

Hello,

Does anyone know if Chamberlain offers an online Associates in Nursing for non-nurses. I do have a BS degree in another discipline.

Thanks!

Yes, Chamberlain does offer an online ASN degree for non-nurses. I should be starting the program this July.....and I do not have a degree.

How does Chamberlain (online ASN) work? Is it similar to Excelsior?

Bman, I am not sure about Excelsior's program. With Chamberlain, you take all of your classes on line, even the nursing classes. You must be on campus at the end of each semester for the 4 day skills validation. Here in St louis, I will be able to take clinicals with "on campus" students. If you are out of state, you will need to schedule clinicals (with the help of Chamberlain) with a preceptor at a local hospital. It is a 2 year - 6 semester program.

:angryfire and, just today, I received a letter that they have raised the tuition by $42/cr hr to improve the program. I have heard that they could really use some much needed improvement but it is getting better - so I've heard.

Good Luck

how hard is it to get into chamberlain nursing. I live in Ky. so would I be able to go there or do the program online. I have a B.S. in radiologic technology. I can't decide to pursue Excelsior or Chamberlain. Thanks

Good luck to those of you just getting started! I am in my second term and it's tough to do on line, but in some situations completely necessary so worth the extra effort.

One word of caution.....they are having some trouble with out of town students clinicals....no one at the school is saying what the issues are, but as I said I am in my second term, beginning the second half of a clinical required course, live in Indiana, and I still do not have any clinical time.

I am assuming that this will slow me down in the end or even make it necessary to repeat the course (?) I am getting a tad bit stressed over the matter. The problem isn't me not designating where I want to go, it's the school sending out a contract, I am not the only out of town student in this situation. I know it's exciting to to get started, and hopefully they will fix whatever the problem is, but since no one at school is talking, I wanted to forewarn you. It's honestly maddening to keep up with studies and stress over clinical hours and such.

KrisC - do you think they are having any problems with in-state student clinicals?

I think the in state clinicals are going okay, my observation is that they are not very flexible with time, but I haven't seen many complaints posted within our class. My classes seemed to shrink when we began our chat last night, down to 12 from 17, so I don't know if that is drop out, or just not there.
