Chamberlain

Nursing Students Online Learning

Hi, I was just accepted to chamberlain for March 2007. I was wondering if anyone else will be starting then? I was also wondering if any of you who started in october would be willing to share your opinion of the program. Thanks

I am sorry to hear that KrisC really sucks to follow your dreams only to have them dashed. From what I am understanding your doing the online courses out of state? Also have you considered moving to either St Louis or Columbus and attend school maybe that would help. All I can say is don't give up, don't let anyone or anything take away your dreams.

Just an update I got accepted today just got the news over the phone (since I was bugging the crap out of them ) I am so happy now all I have to do is get in keep my head in the books and worry about the monsterous tuition later.

CONGRATS!! I'M STILL WAITING. I CALLED MY ADVISOR YESTERDAY AND HE SAID I MAY NOT FIND OUT UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH. I FEEL BAD THAT I KEEP CALLING THEM (ALTHOUGH ITS THEIR JOB) BUT I NEED TO KNOW SO THAT I CAN MOVE ON OR NOT. I PASSED THE TEAS ON THE FIRST TRY. I ALSO HAD A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION. HECK, I'M CALLING HIM AGAIN TOMORROW :uhoh3: .

OH, AND THAT TUITION, ARE THEY CRAZY :stone !

HaHa yeah they must be crazy but since DeVry bought them out they charge what DeVry would charge. I am sure you will get in Nik I will keep my fingers crossed for ya.

Nurse104-congratulations on your acceptance, things will go really well in the first semester, then it gets a bit nuts in the second, get used to calling them often, yes it is their job...so don't ever think that you shouldn't call them. And to answer your question...I wish it was feasible to move, however I have 3 kids, a husband who is full time Army in a town near where we live and I have a farm. All the reasons I chose Chamberlain in the first place! So I can't relocate...

As far as the tuition goes, YOU decide whether or not you will get your moneys worth, seriously, this is a 'learn it on your own' situation, so spend the time now before classes start to decide what kind of a studier you are....note cards, notebooks, tape recorder....as soon as class starts you will have several chapters to digest very fast, now is the time to figure out how you will do that.

Best of luck to you!

:uhoh21: Well, I got accepted to start in July.

But for some reason, I am not very excited. Yes, I am glad that I got in but I feel a little  about the program. All I need a really good positive feedback about this over-priced school; just one.

Nik Nik,

You're in Missouri so I truly wouldn't worry about the program. I think it will be great for you, congratulations!! The Dean is still "reviewing my files" and making a decision on whether they will allow me to begin in March or not (since I will still be in Japan). They said I should hear in about 2 weeks.

KrisC, I'm so sorry you're going through such a process. What state are you in again, if you don't mind me asking? When I first inquired, my enrollment adviser listed 7 states for me right away, and said if I thought I'd ever live in one I should reconsider. Only 2 of them flat out wouldn't allow Chamberlain, the other 5 DO, but are being VERY difficult about clinicals.

Thanks, that makes me feel much better

I am going to apply to the chamberlains online ASN program here in St. Louis. I see that they require the TEAS test or some other admissions test. Did anyone take this for Chamberlain? Im wanting to know if Calculators were allowed and what the school considers a passing grade. Im curious to know what GPA's they are admitting into the school. I currently have a 3.2, but am taking some classes over again. Can anyone tell me of their admissions experience into the asn online?:monkeydance:

The TEAS as VERY EASY. Calculators are not allowed. Takes about 3 hours but it won't take that long. The hardest portion, to me, was the science section. They only require like a 50% to be accepted. I got accepted with only a 2.5 gpa, however, I am not attending and have decided to give up nursing. See website www.testprepreview.com and you can take practice test. The actual is much easier than the online practice test and the study guide. With your gpa I wouldn't bother retaking classes for them. Its more so a lottery than academics to get accepted there.

Good Luck

NiKNik-

Why giving up nursing? Is it the trouble with chamberlain?

It wasn't the problem with Chamberlain. I just started my current job in October '06 and I really love it here. I have plenty of opportunities for advancement. I was stressed out trying to find out what school I will be able to go to, I will we make ends when I quit my job, etc. My gpa dropped tremendously since I started all of the science classes. Nursing wasn't even a first choice for me, I was initially going to school for healthcare management. I just realized that I can help people without being a nurse. My employer will pay for a large majority of my business degree. Then I will go get a masters in healthcare management to fall back on.
