Treats too much?!

Hi all!

This is definitely under the wrong category I'm not sure where to put it.

I am new to allnurses but have used this forum all throughout my nursing school career. I graduate April 29th (whoop whoop) and recently landed myself my dream job in a neonatal intensive care unit!

I was hired Feb. 14 and don't start until May 30th. Would it be inappropriate to take some St. Patty's day cookies in and just let my manager and co-workers know I'm excited to be working with them (I'll be up in the area) or will I be overstepping?

I don't want to seem like I'm trying to sell myself or make anyone like me I just truly am excited to start working and May 30th is soooo far away to me.

Hmmm. Can't see why anyone would be annoyed by an excited new employee bearing cookies.

Cookies? I think that's a sweet idea. Get off on the right foot and take two trays, clearly labeled for day shift and night shift. Night shift usually gets the crumbs, leftovers and mess to be cleaned up. You'll be a rock star.

I work in a NICU and I'm positive that would be received nicely! Write a little note and stick it on the box saying who you are, too!!

I can't imagine any scenario in which people would be annoyed by cookies. Just be sure to make enough for everyone.

BTW, the shortened form of St. Patrick's (Day) is St. Paddy because this denotes male gender as well as Padraic, which is a Celtic version of Patrick. Just wanted to make sure that your cookies are accurate.
