Sorry for all you northerners, this is old news...

But in NC... we have SNOW.... a 10 minute drive home was 90 minutes but it was GREAT

Miss it... from Buffalo where we measure feet per hour... here in fayetteville.... I might get 3 inches... but all schools are closed and all the bread and milk is gone... those of you not southern... don't ask... I think the bread is used to line the driveways to soak up the snow!!!!!

enjoying it all... hope you are too:kiss

I used to live in canton, ohio, but now live in florida. its supposed to get in the low teens tonite.....brrrrrrrrrr. brings back bad memories of the cold up north

I'm in Pittsburgh and in early December had the not so distinct pleasure of experiencing my first true ice storm which we rarely ever get in PA.

I gotta hand it to you Southerners, I would rather have a blizzard than go through a couple hours of an ice storm. It happened so fast, it just turned from rain to ice in a matter of seconds and suddenly the roads looked like that Volkswagen commerical with that car spinning around and the guy talking about applying power from one wheel to the other. Much scarier than ever driving through a snow storm.

I have to laugh! I am from Colorado but now living in Charlotte. I am at work today and we have several patients brave enough to come in, but all the businesses, including the banks around us are closed! It is so amazing to me to watch everyone panic! However, since no one here is used to it, no one can drive in it and the snow plows seem to get stuck in their garages every time! But, it is funny to watch everyone get so worked up about it! As long as you are watching for the crazy SUV drivers that forget that they really can't fly!!

we got snow here last night also, temps were below 0 this am

Good ol' Decatur. How about you?

I got tickled today - had to go to WalMart to get some groceries (yes, I had been planning to go all week - even before I had a clue it would "precipitate"!!) and the people were still stocking up on stuff like they were afraid the "snow" would multiply. Clear blue skies out, just cold as all get out. Extremely minimal chance of snow, and the people are stocking up in case there is more. As if they will shrivel up and die without a slice of bread - most people admit not normally eating bread, too - how funny is that??? It's like an OCD with southerners, I guess - in your genes or something - snow=gotta buy milk and bread...???? I've never understood the bread/milk thing, either. The last thing I want is milk - if I'm stuck at home give me a beer! HAHA!!!!!!

By the way - if you live in N. Al. and you need groceries - hurry - just heard that it MIGHT snow again on Sunday...the stores will be empty!!! HAHA!

The last time it snowed here was in the mid to late 70's. Only seen snow one other time in my life. It's supposed to get down in the low 20's tonight. BRRRRR!!!!! A wet cold with wind that makes it feel even colder than it really is outside. We are hoping to have to go and buy milk and bread in the morning, oh and batteries and TP too! Let it snow!!! But, no electric overload blackouts that we get everytime it gets this cold---good thing I've got a real fireplace and some oak on the front porch----We're ready! Maybe I should go shop tonight, just in case. LOL. Keep warm everybody!

I'm in Russellville:D :)

Just talked to a friend in Knightdale, NC last night.....schools were closed yesterday and again today.

The Outer Banks got something like 12" and it's the first snow they've seen in 13+ years!

Wacky weather

While in the deep freeze here, at -3 this morning, with windchill warnings.......Last night the lowest we saw it was -22 :(

We've been below zero for the last week, and 1-3" of snow everyday for the past month. Driving sucks when the lower layer is all ice!

I am SOO glad that my break ends and I start classes Monday!!!

P.S.

Do your mail carriers a favor and shovel out your mailboxes :)

(from a NY carrier :roll)
