Lung Center of the Philippines: Basic Skills Training

World Philippines

Published

They are currently screening for Basic Skills Training in LCP. Has anyone tried this? Would you guys recommend this? This is a 3-month training: 1 month lecture and 2 months practicum. It costs 6,000 pesos.

after BST, will i be hired? my classmate is already in the middle of her BST

c. will you be included in the pool of nurses after the training?

d. can anyone confirm this >>> the nursing staff there were abusing the BST trainees some says they were scolded in front of patients and students etc

thank you

I don't think so...well at first you get informed that the top 10 in BST ranking will get hired eventually...after 9months to a year after the training, this is based on the experiences of the staff nurses there who told me during our training...but based on my own experience, it's disappointing because after working so hard, getting a perfect attendance and doing a great job and finally landing a place in the top 10 spots available for hiring out of the hundred or more trainees competing for slots...I still wasn't called up after more than a year of waiting...i had my training last 2009. none of my batchmates who got in the top 10 slots were called up either. And if you call to follow up your application, they just pass you around, saying the copy of applicants for your batch is not with them...so sad that this is happening to aspiring and qualified nurses here in the Philippines.

but I can say the training is good, everything is hands on...it was a great learning experience, you get to feel like a staff nurse because you work alone of course with the staff's supervision but they allow you to do everything...the rumor about staff abusing the trainees is not true...the staff there are very nice people, they teach you and guide you if there is a question or something you don't know...there might be a few overly strict personnel but that's probably because they care for the patients welfare. i heard that the rumor started because some of the trainees were lazy and blamed the staff for passing the work to them, but the truth is you wanted to train there that's why you get patient assignments...so don't complain if you get stuck with 10-12 patients with a couple of them on an hourly monitoring which basically takes up all your time...just work on it and stop complaining. :)

hi, may i ask if you guys know if there are still available slots for feb 2011?..thanks thanks

Are there still available slots for basic skills training in lung center? and when? i hope i can still be able to train for any upcoming schedule

any update if there's a slot for feb. 2011. thanks.:)

i just called up LCP last day and said that they are no longer accepting applicants for FEB 2011. The next batch will be on April 2011. They said that they will be accepting requirements on the last week of Feb (i dont know the exact date) for the April 2011 batch. Or better yet, you can inquire there also for more details. :)

thanks for the info...Ü

I understand that IVT is required for lung center's BST.

But do they require the IVT to have been done in Lung center as well? Because I had my IVT at heart center. My BLS is at heart center as well. Will they accept that?

HI. I am currently having my BST Training here at LCP. So far, I am having the time of my life! They are all very accommodating.

About your question on IVT. What they will require you is to have IVT & BLS Cert. & ID card. Even if you got your IVT training from other hospitals, they will still accept it as long as it is still VALID.

I had my BLS training at Heart Center. :)

IVT training in Muntinlupa.

Just complete all the requirements, pass the medical exam, and then you will be asked to pay for the BST Training :) thats is!

do i have to pass the bls certificate? is it required for their bst? the last time ive checked their list of requirements, bls certificate wasn't included on the list.

It won't do you any harm if you will bring your BLS certificate when you pass your requirements. And I think it is really required. I will have to check on tuesday. I'll get back to you.

Do you think that they're finished accepting applicants for the April Batch? Thanks!

We had a meeting the other day, they said they will be limiting / reducing the number of trainees for the next batch. However, they didn't announce anything about being finished screening new applicants. You should try to call them. Even if I want to go to the Nsg Training Office to ask them, I can't coz I have a hectic sched. Duty almost everyday. Sorry.
