They are currently screening for Basic Skills Training in LCP. Has anyone tried this? Would you guys recommend this? This is a 3-month training: 1 month lecture and 2 months practicum. It costs 6,000 pesos.
The nice thing about LCP is that you are basically hands-on with the patients, you can do IV insertion, vital signs, meds, IV fluid regulation, cleaning the chest tube sites, changing CTT bottles, etc.Didactic part is mostly about Respiratory System :)
what is the ratio of trainee to patient ?

Minimum of 1. Maximum of 5. But in some 'benign' wards, you can have as much as 7patients. It's easy if you have all your patients in one room but more often than not, they're in several rooms. Each ward only has 2 or 3 sets of BP app,Stet and Pulse Ox, so you'd have to do your VS really fast if you don't want your groupmates to hate you for taking too long.
