Any SN's from the Philippines? Post here!

I'm on my last semester and will be graduating this March 2006.

Wahooo!!! A few more steps and my journey to the real world begins...

Anyone who could tell me where could I find seminars for nursing students.. Just to uplift our willingness to serve other people..

hi ishy! we had our NAT at second semester when i was a freshman in nursing school...well based on what i can remember...it was a three-hour exam, im not sure but i think it was sort of like that, well anyway the test consisted of 60 questions per subject, and there were some with smaller item numbers...like most of the tests we take, like entrance exams etc...each subject has a time limit, i think the subjects were English(its basically like a synonym-synonym, synonym-antonym thing, and spelling and grammar too), Mathematics (just minor calculations), Science, Abstract Reasoning, and a little bit of First Aid, i think that was it..well anyway from what i can remember...overall impression...well actually i didnt have any review or whatsoever for the test, i think almost all of us didnt...but hey...we all passed and we got high grades!, im not saying you do the same, and im not being conceited, im just telling you to relax...it wasnt that hard but it wasnt easy too of course, if you want to have the "genius" level for the result then study, im telling you you could really achieve it...goodluck! and God bless...:nurse:

thanks... im gong to take my NAT exam tommorrow... i hope i'll be able to pass the exam....actually im really nervous about this...uhmm..is it true..that if you did not pass this exam you wont be able to go on to the next year level???

Hi to all,

I'm a student nurse too. second courser. I realized there's no future with business management. Btw, I am from Lanting and I will be graduating march 2006 too. I believe we are the first batch to take the new format of NLE. By topics na diba? I'm having problems with CHN.

Hi, i'm new to this egroup. I read in your posting that you're from Lanting. I heard that it's a good school, but don't know certain details like how are the teachers there, its passing percentage, schedule for second coursers...? You see, I'm a second courser as well, i have kids and i live in lower Antipolo area - a bit far, that's why i want to know if Lanting is worth the travel. AMA and World Citi College are the few choices i have which are a bit near our place. Hope you or anyone in this group can help me out. I plan to enrol in Nursing this 2nd semester, and it would be great to hear from the students or graduates from Lanting or any nursing school, so i can discern well as to which school i will enrol in...

hi again! well im not sure about this, but i think its not true...i havent heard anyone from our school who was removed from the program because he/she failed the NAT...well perhaps no one failed, or maybe it depends on the school... we heared rumors like that when we were freshmen, it sort of scared us too, but anyway RELAX!!, ;) , by now you would have already taken the exam...so...how was it?...easy right?:caduceus:

in our school, those who failed .... put the students on PROBATION

but not totally remove them from the school...

i think u'll be removed from school if you fail any major subject but not for failing NAT.

Worry about trying to pass the local boards first. Studying for the locals will actually help you get started for the NCLEX. :)

Hi there are you allowed to take the local board in the Phil even if you are not a filipino citizen? I am graduating this March I am a balikbayan came hre to take nursing actually its not required that I have to take the board as long as I have my diploma when I go back to CA. Thanks

Again, that is where you are wrong. The Diploma means nothing here, it is the completed set of transcripts, and it will depend if your schol will even be able to release them then.

They must be able to be verified by the BRN here, the piece of paper that you have in your possession is not accpetable to them, CA BRN also does their own credential review.

You are not required to take the local board to work in the US, whether you are from anywhere. It is the completed set of transcripts that is required.

My wife is also finishing next year. Even if they allow you to take the Phil Boards, don't even try to take it. Look at what just happened to the June examinees. They are stuck in no-man's land for who knows how long. Just make sure you can get your TOR's and have your RLE in proper order.

hi! :) I'm new here. I'm a 2nd courser and on my 2nd yr in Nursing. Goodluck to all of us!hehe
