I doubt nursing will meet tier 1 as it is classed as a highly skilled worker and must score 95 points, Very hard for someone outside the UK to be able to do their nurse training, preference is given to UKC

You must score:

* 75 points for your attributes (age, qualifications, previous earnings, and experience in the United Kingdom); and

* 10 points for English language; and

* 10 points for available maintenance (funds).

Post-study workers are free to look for work without having a sponsor for the length of their leave. The category provides a bridge to highly skilled or skilled work. If you are granted permission to stay as a post-study worker, we expect that you will switch into another tier of the points-based system as soon as you are able to.

My friend finished her masters there already last December 2008 and she has her visa now and been working. So I don't think it's impossible. You are eligible for the post study visa once you get a degree.

Just have to try and believe. Positive attitude. What the mind want, it finds.

helloo.. a newbie here! From the Philippines.. graduated last march 2006 at SLPC and passed NLE on December 2006.. I was a clinical instructor in the same school where I graduated and currently here in Ontario as a permanent resident. still waiting for my credentials to be assessed by the CNO.. :)

hi pickles27! so how's your papers goin'? Would you be taking some classes for RN exam or go straight for the RPN exam?

hi lvo_i! Im still waiting for my papers.. so i still dont know if i will take some more courses to become an RN or i can take the exams..how about you?are you here in ontario?

hello pickles27! I used to be in Vancouver but now in Oregon. I'd like to go back but with two kids, it has remained a plan. Keep me posted!

you graduated on what year if I may ask? It seems that most of the nurses are heading to BC and few to Ontario thats why its so difficult for me to ask questions to individuals who shared some experience like me.. haaaaayy..
