  1. There are such things as stupid questions. Try to find the answer before you have to ask. Asking your preceptor/fellow nurse/charge nurse a question should be considered the last resort.

  7. Don't martyr yourself! If you find yourself feeling like a martyr (ie, thinking the place will fall apart without you there), take off some of the time you have earned. Work will still be there when you get back. Or if you quit. Chances are, your co-workers are capable of handling it.
