Do you bring a portfolio to interviews?

Nurses Job Hunt

We didn't talk a whole lot about bringing portfolios to interviews in nursing school and I am just wondering how important it is to bring one. I have one that I put together 2 semesters before I graduated for a class but I havn't used it since then. Do you think it's important to bring one to an interview or job fair? Thanks!

I always bring a few extra copies of my CV along, in case I find myself talking to someone who hasn't seen it. I also always ask, when scheduling an interview, if there is anything they want me to bring. Other than that, I've never brought extra material to interviews.

I recently put together a portfolio and separate packets and take about 2-3 with me to each callback interview. In these packets I include my resume, license verification, letters of recommendations, references, and any awards/specialties/certifications that are pertinent to the job I am applying for. I have received a callback already and I believe I can attribute it to this small detail sort of thing.

I have a brag book that I bring that helps me remember some of projects. I may review it in the waiting room, and never open it in the interview, or I may pop it open to a select page to illustrate a point.
