Anyone ever use Monster.com???

I've been a member since 1999. For years, job offers, for my line of work at the time, were offered on a consistent basis. I haven't used the site in about five years and deactivated my old resume. Now that I've graduated nursing school, I updated all my information on Monster. I've received several phones calls from Insurance/financial industries that have NOTHING to do with nursing--wanting me to start a company or invest money. My background wasn't even related to these industries.

What gives with this site? Do nursing recruiters even use it? Am I wasting my time on this site?

Moster.com is a big black pit where no one will ever give your resume the time of day. Apply directly through their website or in person.

I've never posted my resume online due to privacy concerns. I feel there is more than enough of my info online to make my life more interesting. When I discovered monster, I looked at it quite a bit, but saw that it was of no use to me, so I stopped bothering with it.

The same thing happened to me when I posted my reseme up on Craigslist and other job seeking sites; I kept getting spammed with folks offering up obviously scamming "jobs" for "personal assistants", "Online Banking" and others that had nothing to do with nursing or being a caregivers.

I've used Monster, but not to post my resume--only for the Job Search results.

However, I've had great luck with nurse recruiters and Indeed.com. I've been contacted a few times about positions, one of which ultimately became job #2.
