I'm in the same position. I'm an RN-BSN. I've been searching since December and have had multiple interviews - and even 2nd interviews for facilities. Only to be told NOPE, someone more "qualified" was selected. After stringing me along while they "make their decision." I DON'T understand it. I think it comes down to whether or not they "like" you and whether they think you'll be a good "fit" for their facility/unit/clique. What happened to the old days where nurses were hired upon having solid credentials, a clean resume, and all the qualifications for the job? UGH. And moving to another state is not an option for me so I'm stuck.

And doctors' offices only look for nurses with experience. Only way to get in in that area of nursing is to know someone and get your foot in the door that way.

I know it's hard to accept, but PLEASE don't take these rejections personally. It is not a reflection of your character. Your qualifications are undoubtedly just as good as other new grads. You have been caught up in an employment squeeze that has nothing to do with you as a person. These organizations are just choosing (for whatever reason) to hire nurses that will not need as much training & support before they can function independently.

It's crazy-making, isn't it? Hordes of people clamoring for admission to nursing programs at the same time that fully qualified new graduates such as you cannot get a job. I thought that it would have evened out by now but there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. Sorry - no brilliant insight. I just want you to know that we hear you and understand the horrible situation you are in.
