Part of Medicare homecare conditions of participation is verifying that physicians have active unencumbered license, UPIN (universal physican identification number) and participate in Medicare and medicaid. I check the state and internet websites almost daily along with my staff to make sure no MC/MA sanctions too along with reviewing state Board of medicine (BOM) newsletters. We review many PA, NJ and few Del docs.

Just did NJ BOM last list of restricted doctors-21 pages long.

Just wish NJ would get their state verification website up again to make my life easier.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the MDs in NJ strike over excessive malpractice insurance rates?

Some might tell them to get a clue - if your governing bodies allow dangerous MDs to continue to practice - they will continue to harm patients, leading to lawsuits and higher malpractice insurance rates.

NJ is one of the most difficult states to get a Nursing license. Would that it were so for MDs.

As far as that due process objection I don't think it holds water. It seems to me that there is an established, long standing precident for states taking loss of license in other states into consideration.
