Please thank CNN Headline News for featuring a nurse as health expert

May 27, 2003 -- Pat Carroll, RN, MS, CEN, appeared in two different health spots on CNN Headline News on May 21, 2003 and over the May 24-26 holiday weekend, giving practical advice on antibiotic resistance and the safe use of antihistamines. Ms. Carroll communicated her important points to the patient audience in an engaging and highly effective way. Although patient education is an important part of nursing and nurses excel it, it is rare that nurses are featured in television health spots.

Please send a word of thanks to the CNN producers for seeking out nurses as health experts, which not only improves public health but also shows the public that nurses are knowledgeable health professionals who can deliver complex information in an accurate and understandable way.
