TPAPN - New COC forms?

Nurses Recovery

Published

I am confused as I received a big stack of COC forms from Affinity (in Tpapn we use Quest through recovery trek). I have not heard from my case manager or anyone about a change in testing sites coming. Did anyone else get new forms?

Yep! I got an envelope in the mail with directions on how to sign up on the Affinity website and dig through available testing sites. Looks like it does not go into effect until September 1st. It also looks like they have contracted with multiple sites now and not just Quest (Care Now, Any Lab Test Now, Lab Essential, ARCPOINT Labs, Concentra, University Medical, AccuTrace, EMSI, and Assure Testing-these are the closest Fort Worth testing sites to me). It would also appear they have contracted with multiple sites that are...you guessed it...open on the weekends (insert your own assumption here)! The Affinity website looks easier to maneuver than Recovery Trek, but the testing sites also list prices and if you can pay the site directly while you are there. Some of the collection sites are cheaper ($20 for urine) and list prices for hair, nails, and blood, too. If the site you generally visit for collection is not on their list, there is a form you can send to them and have it added (if it meets their requirements). The site I've tested at since I started this was listed, so...winning!(?)

I got myself into this mess, so I will refrain from waging any complaints. Honestly, it just looks like more hoops and redneck noise to shuffle around. I am counting these last 376 days, friends. Just another reason to utter, "Our father, who art in Heaven..." through gritted teeth and clenched fists. Best wishes to you, Ash2213! Let's finish this time in recovery purgatory and GTF on with our lives :)

Got packet today. Dang I hate change. Just trying to get through this last 14 months. Now I have to read all this.

Wow I am glad I posted here! I didn't even see the paperwork that came with it all, it was inside the COC forms. That is why I was at a total loss.

I HATE CHANGE. :(

Ok I could so seriously cry about this. This website looks confusing, I am so busy right now with back to school and taking care of a sick husband who we cannot find out what is wrong with and I just want to cry that all this is changing too. I am close to my breaking point. I have been doing everything they ask of me, everything! Now I am going to be tested on Sundays and be totally screwed with my 12 hour shift. I am so upset y'all. I just can't handle all this. I am almost 2 years in and was hoping to be into "step down testing" by the new year. I bet that does not happen. I am so bitter and angry right now.

I haven't received anything yet. Does this mean we won't be using recoverytrek anymore? What's Affinity?

Never mind. I got my package today. I'm really glad I read about it here first though! Otherwise I would've had a heart attack when I saw a big envelope in my mailbox with the TPAPN sticker on it!!

We can do this guys! To me the site looks much more easier to maneuver. I like how we can see testing sites that are all around us as well. PLUS the cost. It's gonna work ! Hang in there :)

I never received anything but nasty call attitude from one lady next call came on a Saturday to confirm my email address. I tested + for THC. Just moved to TN from CA where I used a RX medical MJ for my symptoms of nephropathy and insomnia. I had no insurance working PT and prn. I had used MJ 2 x since returning to my home state, was glad to get it as I I have no medication. So week 2 back at work and HOME, someone left narcotics unattended near family member at work, count off, so everyone went to give a sample. I didnt even think of it as I had only, used it the weekend before. WELL my boss though understanding asked me to resign. You see I worked for him 11 years before COLORECTAL Cancer and moving with my son to CA. So they know my medical HX. anyway I cannot afford all this TNPAP crap. called me at 4:15pm had no clue who it was but stated Affinity with TNPAP and I should go pee within 45 min at a cost of $70. I was driving to pick up grandchildren. I have no money , no job, no insurance and I am a 60 year old Diploma RN with limited experience outside of OR. I was called two more times about peeing in less than 12 hours. Im sorry but I refuse to go through 3-5 years of this for THC and be treated like a criminal on probation. How is this helpful ! So at 60 years old and without a degree, no office experience I just quit nursing. Gave TN 20 years nursing and tried in CA 3+ years with "NO BSN" thanks MAGNET STATUS. I Quit. never a problem, never a write up, never a patient issue. Any way I feel betrayed, I could see a suspicion and retest, but 3-5 years. They already removed me from TN Board before they even asked me to go test and It had been 1 week since I approached my boss and confessed to THC, and I Reported myself to TNPAP. this program has lots of communication issues already.

We use affinity in Florida. They had us use lab corp and all coc info went in automatically. If you use the paperwork it is really easy to enter them under a tab for report of coc. This system was user friendly I found.

Find out the main lab you will go through. Don't want you guys to be surprised by the cost. If we went to say lab corp the test was $55. When you go to a non contracted site the price the say such a $20 is an added site fee so you would really pay $75 for the convenience of using that site.

We just take our coc to the lab with recovery trek we don't have to enter them. How do you do your meetings sheets and self reports. On recovery trek we do them on line and then there is a place to upload documents. I am not seeing that on the Affinity site
