Guys, do you know what documents the CGFNS request from PRC for CVS? does it includes TOR and the cases? or just a letter or something that a person is a RN?

I have a question! My CVS status is already Ready for Review. How long will it take for CGFNS to send the report to NYSED?

Hello, I have a question to ask you guys.

I'm Registered Nurse from Israel and I am currently filling "Form 1 - Application for Licensure" for the state of New York.

Now I have already completed the CGFNS process and it has been sent there, in the CGFNS I provided all of my forgein Licensures and Certificates.

Right now I have reached questions number 19 in "Form 1 - Application for Licensure" and it asks me again if I ever held any Licensures or Certificates under Any state or jurisdiction so I don't know what I should do now.

Should I fill that area and then include Form 3 as well, I don't think so because this Licences are forgein and that is what CGFNS was for.

Please help me regarding this issue.

You are not applying for NCLEX application but application to be a RN in the US of which NCLEX is part of that process. Title changed to indicate this.

You need to apply to CGFNS for CVS as NY will not look at your application without it. If you are not planning on working in NY then I would suggest you rethink your plan, also to add not many NY hospitals are petitioning foreign nurses. Also to add suggest you have a read on the forum regarding retrogression as at some stage you may/will be affected

"several online courses?" which means we have to pay for it? u mean by online courses is the same with taking online exams?

i thought the online exam is mandatory before they will release my certification or my att? so that means if i successfully passed the nclex & ielts i still have to take several online courses before they will release my hard license? is this costly? how many times will i have to take online courses?

I am a Philippine Nurse license to practice in New York. If you really would want to work in NY, then start your application as early as now. I know it's a tedious process but it will pay off. New York does issue your license after passing all the reqts. Since the process is tedious I recommend that you take CGFNS CP while undergoing CVS. In that way you can ask your employer to petition you (after passing CGFNS examination and IELTS). You can also start your visascreen after having the CGFNS certificate. You can also use the certificate for a limited permit. HOwever, I still recommend that you take your NCLEX before leaving. While waiting for the CVS you can take the mandatory courses like child abouse and the infection control and have your certificates handy. Start reviewing and prepare your Form 1 as well. From the time CGFNS submits your credentials to NY BON, submit your FORM 1 asap including your certifctes and payment then contact them after 2 weeks. You need not to wait for their correspondents. Just call them because having the letters will prolong your waiting period. IF the person advises you that you are eligible for pearson registration ask her name for future reference. Registered with pearson and take the NCLEX. REmeber, NY BONs ATT is good for 90 days only. So you should be preprared from the time you register with pearson. GOD BLESS YOUR PLANS.

May i ask how is the reciprocity of NY to other states because I live here in Minnesota and planning to take my nclex in NY?thank you

If you plan on working in Minnesota then check with the BON because they may still require you to meet requirements as if a new applicant if you trained outside the US. Going to one state to meet requirements and then endorsing license doesn't always work. We have seen several members post that requirements still have to be met ie CVS done for NY but CES is required for other state. This also happened to me when I endorsed to AZ when initial application was NY

i am an immigrant here in the US and i am applying for NEW YORK Board of Nursing. i completed my education(elementary, highschool and college) in the Philippines. i would like to ask the steps that i need to take in applying for New York. i have read the New York State website as well as the CGFNS. my major concern right now is that, do i have to have an IELTS exam for the Credential Verification Service? or is it only needed for VISA SCREEN? because i did not take that exam and i don't think i will be needing a VISA SCREEN coz i am already an immigrant. so, its worrying me because i don't want to gamble my money in applying in New York and then later on get rejected by the CGFNS because i have to have an IELTS. if you could enlighten me with this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

by the way, i got denied by CA BRN because of my clinical rotations that is why i am applying in NEW YORK. i failed in CA so i reapplied and that's the reply i got from CA BRN. so i just want to be sure i wont be wasting my application fee just like in CA.

i submitted my application already. i just gambled coz i haven't got any response from here. i did not submit form 3 of the NYS. applied the CVS online and i paid it online too to save. hopefully, it will be good. *cross-fingers*
