PHILMAN APPLICANTS forum

World Registration

I have seen there are a lot of nurses who availed, availing (like me), and contemplating to avail of Philman's packages . . . so i guess a new thread for us is just proper. Hope that everyone can share their experiences with the process to guide everyone. thank you.

Hi iaminvictus,

I am still in the process of getting to know philman. i have submitted the requirements for registration just days ago. I haven't signed up for anything yet. I just hope everything will go well.

btw, are you planning to tie up with philman too?

Hi Tokiya and all others here! I am would like to avail the services of PhilMan. And I don't know much about them. As I don't have the resources to process on my own for Australia, I think I'll avail their services. But I'm really scared about their interest and payment conditions. What if we end up not having enough money there and not able to send money home. I have heard and read a lot about receiving just 20k pesos a month after PhilMan deduction. I have quite a lot of questions. Especially the financing. To those who have gone through with PhilMan, may you please send me an email? [email protected]. Or you can just reply here? Thanks! I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Not alone finding a job. Nurses are being made redundant here at the moment. Queensland health have announced 2599 nurses are going.

NSW say they cannot see the need to sponsor any more.

Victoria is on cutbacks and not replacing staff as they go on holidays or leave.

Please think carefully before putting the family business or home as collateral for a big loan. Try borrowing from family first, for cash.

If you have theatre or ED experience of at least 2 years, you should have not troubles finding work....everything else, they are know advertising if there is work, no sponsorships available.

Be careful.

Hi ceridwyn! May I contact you through email? I can't receive and send PM here. My email add is [email protected]. I would like to ask for advice as regards Australia work for nurses.

hi everyone!

I'm from the Philippines..Could anyone please help or enlighten me on the loan process of AG finance (philman) for the whole bridging program? (specifics) I"d really appreciate it..You can send me a pm..thank you so much!

Did you have answers already? Please share it with me. You can email me: [email protected]. Thanks a lot!

Hi Ceridwyn,

I read your comments and these kinda worries us. So does this mean that the demand for nurses in AUS is getting weaker? Is the job market still booming today? I am an Emergency department nurse.

I hope it won't be too much to ask you to give us the real scenario of RN applications for Australia.

I am really worried because we might not have any job once we get there. It will be like shooting our heads to be there "jobless" most especially that we have to pay the debts and interests that we will soon owe from Philman agency :(

Please enlighten us ceridwyn.

Thanks much.

Not so good news about AU nurses and grads and yes, what Ceridwyn says is so true. My friend's cousin obtained a financial package and can't afford to start to repay after almost 18 months, no job, no money. It's only thru the good graces of her auntie that she has a roof over her head and feels so bad that she keeps having to not contribute to help the auntie and the one child with food.

Once you sign the contract, it doesn't matter whether you can or can't find a job, it's not their problem.

By the way

Hi steppybay,

this is very sad to know. I am just confused though, what are the differences between grad nurse, enrolled nurse, and employed nurse?

Does grad nurse pertain to fresh nursing graduates? How about nurses with 2-3 years experience... do they stand a good chance in finding a nursing job in Oz?

Please enlighten us.

Thanks.

By the way jwbarola...

As I said, if you have no experience.....what can you offer the Australian community, that a local cannot...unless you are networking with other colleagues.. in this is known to be happening...you will not be offered a sponsorship,

I you have specialised in the much needed areas, such as ED, theatre-these nurses are snapped up, and icu, you have much more chance of gaining a sponsorship.

If general med/surg.....not sure.....plenty of locals with these quals and experience.

Number one, must have experience...if you have 1-2 years in the specialities you should have many opportunities for work.

yes the wheels have fallen off the 'lets go to Australia bandwagon' for nurses to first gain experience, even in aged care.
