Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

Hai All,

This is excellent blogging site.thanks a lot in advance for the help.I am from India.currently working in Saudi. I finished my Academic IELTS first week of august,Finished interview with my employer and got job offer by last week of August 16.CBT passed on 17th Oct 16 and My documents (Most of them) reached NMC(as per tracking details) on 17th Nov 2016.Guys,pls tell me how will I know I am in the assessment Que???I hope my pending documents will reach NMC by this week.

Hello Dear,

As I am currently in Saudi ,I went to Saudi council office and gave my good standing certificate copy,MY Saudi council card copy and NMC form ....paid 150SR for form filling and 120SR for sending the form and good standing certificate(As per the NMC the good standing certificate to be sent by the Saudi council directly).By Gods grace within 7 days, they gave the tracking details.Thank god it reached NMC on 17th Nov16.But I really don't know whether they filled the form or not.As far as I know Even though the form is not filled just they need to enclose the form along with the good standing certificate and send to NMC.(NMC knows that Saudi council sometimes won't fill the forms).

Hi guys. Is it ok if one of my reference is our medical officer?..i can't use my senior nurses and supervisor coz we bear the same surname and we're relatives.:(

Yes you can. One of my references is our GP and it didn't gave me a problem. Got my DL already. :)

I know they will fill out the forms. The only question is if they answered it correctly. Mine was ticked wrong regarding the good standing. that is why NMC asked me for further info about it.

How long did you guys have to wait after sending all your docs to get your decision letter?

once you check your portal, if all of the documents are tagged 'Received' then you are already in the assessment queue. It's still best to call NMC though.

It will depend. But NMC will tell you that it will take 40-70 days for them to process your application. I know some have received their DL even before that and some received it longer than that.

Hello, again. I ended up going round about to find my results the following day and found out I did not pass. Its super frustrating because my recruiter said nothing about reading the Royal Marsden or looking at the blueprint. I only found out about all that after failing via my new recruiter. Great. Thanks. Nothing like dropping 130pounds to fail.

I am now studying the Royal Marsden but there is SO MUCH in that book and I don't know what to focus on. Its especially concerning because I am a NICU nurse that has never done adult nursing except in nursing school. Its not a very nice route for people who do pediatric nursing who will do pediatric nursing in the UK. You'd think it would make more sense to put us through the pediatric test.

Anyway, hoping to retake in late December. My confidence has really been dashed because I thought I did fairly well on the last one for not being an adult nurse. I bought these practice questions (BMJ OnExamination Sign In) but I have no idea if they will help.

Anyone know what to focus on in the RM book? Anyone know any links to practice tests, because I feel like that will help me the most for my learning style (the amount of info in the book is just overwhelming).

here is the link for practice test Dougherty: The Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures Student Edition 9e

Hope this will help you like it did to me. Some of the questions are in my exams when i took my cbt last nov 18. Luckily, ive passed.

I've took the cbt exam last November 18 and luckily I've passed. I received an email from nmc that i passed the 1st exam and i need to log in to pay for the application fee. Once, ive opened my account, it says my account details are being processed and i need to wait for few minutes. I've opened also my invoices options for me to pay my application fee but it was all empty. I've already emailed my concerned to nmc but until now they don't have response. I've emailed also to their IT support and replied to me that they forwarded my concern to uk enquiries. Does anyone have problems like mine? How long did it take you to pay for your application fee? I really want to proceed in accomplishing the needed documents but I can't proceed because of this.

Hello! This forum has been very helpful to me and I'd like to share my experience.

I am one of those who got the chance to use two ielts results for my NMC application. I got interviewed for a new employer last July and passed. My first attempt with the CBT in August failed. I took the second one in September and thank God, I passed. The same month, I tried to complete all the necessary documents and forms. My documents were received by the NMC on October 3 and 4, reflected in the portal on October 18 & 19. And today, November 23, I've received my decision letter! That's 35 calendar days.

Thank God! It is really worth the wait!

Good luck to those who are all still in the process of taking the ielts, cbt, nmc application. Preparation for the OSCE starts! :)

Theoretical hours breakdown follows the same format as your clinical hours but the content includes your classroom subjects and the equivalent hours on the side. This can also be requested in the college of nursng office or registrar. pretty much like your TOR subjects with just the hours specified. They need to check if you have more than 1800 hours of nursing classroom training.

Hi

Is the minimum 1800 hours of classroom? Because my school has 1,440 of theoretical and 2,268 clinical. Are you sure about this?

Congratulations! Do you know any thread here that is actively discussing about OSCE?
