NMC Processing

World Registration

Published

I've read several posts here regarding the processing of NMC and yes, it was all helpful.

But I just want to share my personal experience and would like to ask anyone from the Philippines who have started or who are still processing theirs.

I've applied for NMC registration (through an agency) last September 2013. I've received my pack 1 after 2 weeks, paid the fee directly to NMC and submitted the requirements through the agency. I was the interviewed and got hired by an NHS hospital (through the same agency) last October 2013.

The thing is, it's already March. Twenty-****-Fourteen. And I'm still waiting for the Pack 2. I'm getting really really hopeless and frustrated as to how and why the NMC is taking so long in sending my packet 2.

I just want to ask anyone who could give an insight to my situation or share the same experience -- especially those who were hired by NHS through Philippine-based agencies.

Does the employer/hospital really willing to wait til you receive your decision letter?

Is it possible to be deployed to UK while you are still waiting for your decision letter?

Recently, I've come across a lot of job ads here in the Philippines regarding employment to UK, but does anyone here knows the true employment situation in the UK? Do they really need Filipino nurses knowing that it can almost take forever processing the NMC decision letter?

I apologize for sounding a little desperate here for answers. But, truth be told, I am quite desperate for answers. So I would deeply appreciate anyone who would respond and share any info. Thanks.

Good day!

@oliver01. There is a detailed post in this thread "saudi council license or registration verification". However, I think it took her much longer time by following up by phone, that's why I am planning to ask the help of my friend in Riyadh. I would really advise for you to really find someone who can help you process it.

Regarding the agency and interview, I passed an interview this September 15; Omanfil is my agency. Good luck for your interview!

Thanks for the insight. I guess I need to double check all of my friends's location. I hope atleast one can help me. By the way, can I ask a letter of explanation from Saudi Council for the unregistered practice together with SCHS verification. So I can prevent what happened to some of our friends here in the forum. I'll send it together with the forms to be filled out so the time of processing of my Pack 2 won't be extended due to lack of supporting documents. I am with ASC. Are you leaving for KCH or Gloucertershire? Good luck arya!

Hello @oliver01,

I also plan to request for the official letter from SCFHS reg the unregistered practice thru email, based on the detailed instructions on the other thread. And hopefully, they will be able to send it together with the verification of registration form.

I sent you a PM this morning regarding the hospital where I was accepted. However, I think that applicants from my agency really need to wait for their decision letter before they are deployed. Unlike with ASC, I think they are processing and sending applicants to UK even if they are still waiting for DL. (I am not sure about this, but as far as you know, is it true?)

Good luck again for your interview! just be confident!

Arya, I tried to send you PM but to my surprise, I haven't posted 15 messages so I wasn't allowed to reply. :(

For pack 1, prepare notarised copies of Passport, PRC registration certificate, and Birth cert. Also, you need to have a credit card or at least a friend/relative who has so you can pay online the 140 GBS registration fee.

@arya s. winchester

Thanks, I already checked the other thread. You're a great help.

Hi @arya s. winchester,

We're probably hired for the same hospital located north of london through the same agency. I was interviewed last sept 16 for theatre.

Have u recvd ur pack 2 yet? Did u address it to their address in london? My submitted pack 1 docs are still being reviewed according to the agent when i called them up yesterday. They said it will take about 2-3 weeks before they reach a decision and send the second pack.

i wonder if it's better to ask nmc to send the packs to the agency's address in london than here in the phils? Would u or anyone know the time difference between the 2?

thanks!

Hi robmaster!

I sent you a pm.

Thanks for adding me.

Hi! Im new here.. I've read all your posts regarding NMC, Im planning to apply in UK and able to contact an agency and they told me it's not necessary for me to have NMC but from what I've learned I can't work in UK unless I completed the registration in NMC. I've read as well that along with this registration I need to take 2 exams to complete my NMC. How true is that?

To work as a nurse in the UK you MUST meet NMC requirements. The agency telling you you do not need it was wrong.

Yes there is now a 2 part process check out this http://www.nmc-uk.org/Documents/Registration/Registering%20as%20a%20nurse%20or%20midwife%20from%20outside%20EU%20or%20EEA.pdf

Thank you silverdragon for that info..Is it possible to apply NMC without the help of an agency? And these 2exams can be taken anywhere right?.. So I need to complete the assessment (pack 1 and pack 2) wait for the decision letter then take the exams then wait for the PIN number..whoah, is it correct? it means it will really take too much time before getting a job in UK.:(

Yes you can apply to NMC by yourself, you do not need to use an agency. The first part can be taken anywhere at a Pearsonvue center but the 2nd part must be taken in the UK.

Yes it takes time to go through the NMC process and then you have to find a employer willing to go through the work visa process. Keep an eye on NHS jobs (website) and check out jobs and see if any will go that route
