New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

hi RNs!

what are the BP schools that count volunteer experience or does not require experience at all?

hi!

i am a registered nurse here in the philippines with 1 year hospital volunteer experience. i already have my ielts. am i qualified for the bp in australia? what are requirements? do you have the list of schools offering bp in victoria? thanks! :)

hi nurseonduty17! we almost have the same qualifications, however, mine is only 9 months volunteer exp. i hope by the time i get to au for my bp, it's already 1 year. btw, in your volunteer certificate, is it indicated there the number of hours? because in mine, it's only the month... in addition, did you pass (acdg to ahpra standards for rn) the ielts already?

My school of nursing failed to provide more evidence about the course outline, it was so frustrating.

hello everybody, I am a new member here. My application was denied by the NCNZ, and now I am planning to apply in AU. Please share your experiences with AHPRA, how long before you receive your approval? What's the cheapest bridging program fee available?

I am here in new zealand and I'm planning to go home on october 20 to gather all documents that I need. I'm really excited!

hello, sad to hear the reason why you were disapproved.. i hope there are still ways to address it.. nway if you are planning to apply in AU, i suggest you read Cioman94 posts on Page 01 of this Thread which will give a good background of nursing registration in AU..

Cheapest = Many applicants = Great competition = Long waiting line = Enrolled in later batches (example: late next year, that is if you are accepted).. Cheapest is around $2000-$3000 provided by the Dept. of Health of Western Australia government..

Sorry, they have already shared all their heartaches and experiences about AHPRA.. if you really wanna know their experiences, read starting somewhere page 620 of the Part 1 of this Thread (this is part 2 thread)..

How long will you receive AHPRA approval? a question of heartache and headache too.. As you know AHPRA has just started last July 2010, thus, no one can answer that question as of now, we are awaiting the application result of some forumers like shynern07, which will give us an idea and answer to your question..

good luck and take time to read..:) afterwhich, just raise your questions here and we will either answer them immediately or refer you to certain pages of this thread or refer you to websites.. peace..

Thanks cioman.

I've done all that I could to fight for my approval, it was my school's fault and I can't do anything to pursue them cause I'm away.

I started reading some of the posts and it was tiring, well no pain no gain.

Have you filed your application?

I'm worried that ahpra will be as strict as the ncnz, I don't want to be denied again because of the course outline. Keeping my fingers crossed!!

the page 01 of this thread are more or less the summary of the current situation.. i only referred you to page 620++ just for FYI purposes in case you really wanna know what has been happening..

you have a choice on whether to wait and see for the result of those who has filed already, or you may try your luck by immediately filing your application even prior the results of their applications..

im okey, with licenz already.. just paying forward my blessings to those who are still applying for license..

good luck.. you are a "second courser"?

@ cioman

I'm a first courser, I'll wait till the end of the month hopefully all the members waiting for eligibility letters will gain their approvals :)

"blessed" indeed is the right word, result of prayers.. thatz why need to pay forward.. nope, still here in the philippines.. i hope too that they would be able to receive their eligibility letters this month, that would be great..

Did you have your beergoggles on? Australian men in general do not treat their women well.....hence when they get in their 40's and 50's they look towards the Phillipines because no australian women will be their servant...be real careful with this.

Austraian residency cannot beworth living with an australian old crinkly!

@ceridwyn:

so older australian men are evil? but their still yummy right? that's all that matters hehe. btw, are you married/ in a relationship with a filipino?
