New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

I used a bank here in New Zealand, but it should be alright to use any bank from the Philippines.

Or just call ahpra to confirm it.:D

Hi everyone. At last Im back. It took a while convincing my parents about this, and Ive been torn between applying for an agency and processing everything on my own. Then, finally, it's decided. Im doing it on my own. I mean, if you guys can do it why cant I, right?

I have a question about the CV. It states there INTERNSHIP. I read from previous posts that it's all about our RLE rotation way back college. Do I need to provide evidence of my rotations? Plus we change areas every 2 weeks, unlike others here you stick to one area for a month. Help.

Thank you in advance.

hi! i've been lurking in this thread for almost a month now. Kudos to all the contributors! You're all heaven sent!

This is my case, I've been a reg nurse here since 1999, worked at the hospital for 3 years as a Staff nurse and last 2003 I was given an opportunity to be a Clinical Instructor.

my question is, Am I eligible to take the BP and eventually apply for an Austalian license? I've read somewhere in AHPRA website that applicants must have at least 5 years of experience preceding their application. Technically, I only worked as a staff nurse for 3 years and as a CI for 7 years now.. TIA!

Regards to everyone!

Hello rysanti! :) I think I read somewhere here that being a CI can be counted as experience.

Hey Eve, welcome to the thread!

Im thinking of doing the ARNTP. But probably August. Did you have to get AHPRA approval? I emailed them but they haven't replied. I just resent my email a few minutes ago.

Good you're doing it on your own!

From what I remember, you get your RLE from the school and that is what you send. I also had 2 week rotations. Your school should have a copy of that.

Yes, to my knowledge, being a clinical instructor is considered nursing experience.

Hi,

I am an ARNTP graduate, Unisa accepts overseas nurses for the program and APHRA will process your registration once you finish the BP. ( Meaning you don't need APHRA'S endorsement to take the Bp ) though all APHRA's requirements has to be complied. CHEERS

Thank you as always RN oz1 :redbeathe

I have looked at their site already. I am working on my immigration papers through another route via my spouse (my wishful thinking projects being there in 6-9 months) and I am thinking of enrolling in ARNTP when I get my PR. This will hopefully mean a cheaper tuition for me and not having the problem of going home after the class ends to wait for an offer.

I am thinking of submitting my application to ARNTP at the same time so that once I get my PR I can enroll there immediately. Or should I wait for my PR? Any thoughts from anyone here will help. Thanks!

I heard of a friend here that he still hasn't receive the letter from AHPRA. He said he submitted it September of last year. Has anyone experience the same? Thats more than 3 months already.
