Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

World Registration

Published

hello there mimbletonia :)

during the period, we kept an open communication with my RO & she has given me updated since day 1 regarding my status. it was emailed to me & communicated. hope this helps :)

Thank you for sharing your experiences rejai11. i hope everything will progress well for you. I too, have enrolled with ACN for their september intake. I hope feedbacks from their students will be heard so that they can change how they process things. And i hope they would do something with the delays they are causing.

hi elmutero. I heard that they did not change anything. everything that rejai11 has said is true. im even planning to complain them to ahpra for having such a tedious bridging program unlike the other schools that are easier and have early exits as well. they should not do that to students who are waiting to have their registration as early as possible. I think it is not advisable to have the bridging program in that school if you are not residing in Australia or if youre having a visa that's only valid for three months.

Hi namputz. Have you enrolled with ACN too?

its quite bothersome considering the intake dates for the september course is fast approaching. Ive already enrolled and paid my confirmation fee. Im currently waiting for my visa right now.

With the predicament that is happening right now with ACN and their processing scheme, this makes me nervous and apprehensive. Its too late for me to withraw my application as I have invested a lot already. í ½í¸“ I am hoping that there will be some positive turn of events with ACN's present delays.

hi fellow nurses.. i am currently collating my ahpra documents and the Professional Indemnity Insurance is something i dont understand. Do i need to purchase an insurance at this point? please help. help help

Im Philippine educated but currently practising in Singapore .thanks!

If im not mistaken, just present your overseas passport (even without Oz visa) once Ahpra has been approved, you need to show up in Sydney for a personal appearance in their office.

good day fellow Filo nurses, just want to say God is good, i recieved my LOE just yesterday :)

lodged my application last 5th of March.

i just want to share what i have learned as i know this would benefit all of us here in upgrading our career in Oz.

1. we don't meet the criterion 2&3 (perhaps 6&8 also) as i read in the AHPRA site so i didn't bother to collate the said documents for this requirement. my theory was correct & my letter was given that

p.s we are AQF 7 but as far as i know all Filo nurses will undergo BP, just correct me if i'm wrong :)

2. nbi clearance doesn't suffice the international criminal check of the AGOS 40 so you need to get it from the authorized body (fit to work). it would cost you around 6500php but hey! its an investment.

hope this helps guys goodluck & godbless to all of us.

planning to take the ETEA this september 16

Hi. You don't have to purchase the Professional Indemnity Insurance at this point in time. The question is actually asking you if you commit to only practice nursing in Australia if you have a PII. Just tick the yes box and that should be fine. I ticked the "no" box when I filled up my form and that was one of the few reasons why my registration officer sent me an email.

Hello guys!! Anyone here taking the course at ACN?

Hi elmutero! I got my visa a few days ago. 'Had to call the embassy for inquiries and to complain about their laps on visa processing time. If all your documents are complete, it should be out a few days or 2 weeks after your medical. Mine took almost a month after my health check because apparently there had been additional required docs and they didn't manage to reach me through e-mail. Anyway, i received the visa and forwarded a copy to ACN, but until now, there is still no reply from them. It has been 3 days since.

I'm also apprehensive about these ACN issues but as you've said, I had also paid my application and confirmation fees. I'm not really comfortable in taking the BP in ACN but I don't want to put all my efforts to waste. I am just fervently hoping for a nicer turn of events. I'm currently scouting for a place or room to rent near the Parramatta area.

Hi pongpong30.

I, too am apprehensive in taking the course wth ACN with all of the delay issues they have. But unfortunately its too late to withdraw the application. thanks for the info! I guess i have to do some follow-ups with the immi. My medicals have already been submitted days ago.. I hope we manage to get through these hurdles.
