Hello all! I am new here. I intend to apply to AHPRA soon but I have few queries. HOpe someone kind will help me out. I contacted an agent who is saying that my registration and visa along with living expenses will cost me 30000australian dollars. Isn't it too much? Though agency says that it will arrange everything from application to visa. Is it too tough if I do it myself? I also heard that nowadays, it's hard to get employed in Australia if we don't have PR. Is it true? I am so nervous, so any help would be appreciated. By the way I am from India and have 13 years of critical care experience. Many thanks in advance!
Hi. When your agent said 30k aud, is that upto the time you are already registered as a nurse and working? Or is it only until the bridging program? If that includes the cost upto the time you are already working there, then I would say 30k aud is a fair price to pay considering the convenience that they are offering you. But if it's only until BP, that's a bit expensive. I don't know though with the others here. Applying on your own can be tough and there will be times when you'll feel so lost and confused. But the others have done it. So can you. And having 13 years of experience in critical care would surely be of an advantage to you in the job-hunting phase.
hello! This is my first time to apply for something abroad and i'm quite lost. I'm looking to enroll for a bridging course at Melbourne and i have heard that one of the requirements is acquiring a letter of eligibility from AHPRA. i would just like to ask what are the steps that i should take to be able to earn the LOE? Any information would be a great help. thank you so much.
Hi. Search for all the documents you need for the application in AHPRA's website. Gather them all. Take your IELTS if you haven't. Fill up AGOS-40 (if you are an internationally qualified nurse) or any other forms applicable to your circumstance. Mail this together with your other docs to the state you are seeking registration. And wait. You'll get your LOE then if your qualifications were deemed as not enough for registration.
what are the two assessments that you had? is it really 5 week lecture and 6 week clinicals? didn't you have any classmate who finish it earlier? and did you have any classmates whose English exams are nearly expiring? did they have any problems with their registration? thanks for replying and hope you have your registration soon.
yes its all 11 weeks with them, no early exits. It's formative and summative assessment on the 3rd and last week of clinical placement. One assessor will come and see how you do things and grade you competent or not.
For expiring english exams i guess there are few of them but i'm not really sure what they did, if you reapply to aphra after bridging before expiry it should be fine.
hi guys, it is very interesting reading the comments here.
with regards to ENGLISH test that are about to expire, one of my classmate in IRON applied in AHPRA days before our graduation. Her English test was about to expire 1 day before our graduation and it was advised by our coordinator to pass her application for registration before expiration.
Hello everyone! I'm a newbie here. :)
I have submitted my first batch of requirements to Ahpra last Jul 24. My friend submitted hers days after. After a week or so, Aphra sent an e mail to her for the next steps to take. And as for me, until now i haven't received an e mail of confirmation from them that they already have my docs so i sent an inquiry through web last week and they told me that they already received my papers on Jul 28.
I'm a little bit worried as to why she already have an e mail of confirmation whereas i submitted mine first. Is there something wrong with my application?
good day fellow Filo nurses, just want to say God is good, i recieved my LOE just yesterday :)
lodged my application last 5th of March.
i just want to share what i have learned as i know this would benefit all of us here in upgrading our career in Oz.
1. we don't meet the criterion 2&3 (perhaps 6&8 also) as i read in the AHPRA site so i didn't bother to collate the said documents for this requirement. my theory was correct & my letter was given that
p.s we are AQF 7 but as far as i know all Filo nurses will undergo BP, just correct me if i'm wrong :)
2. nbi clearance doesn't suffice the international criminal check of the AGOS 40 so you need to get it from the authorized body (fit to work). it would cost you around 6500php but hey! its an investment.
hope this helps guys goodluck & godbless to all of us.
planning to take the ETEA this september 16
Thank you for sharing your experiences rejai11. i hope everything will progress well for you. I too, have enrolled with ACN for their september intake. I hope feedbacks from their students will be heard so that they can change how they process things. And i hope they would do something with the delays they are causing.

Thanks for sharing! In which state have you lodged your application? My husband lodged his in Sydney on May and haven't heard anything from them except for the notification that they have received his docs.

Congratulations @nurse_opawg!
Just a question, did they contact you when they finished assessing your papers or did they just send you your LOE after 5 months without correspondence before then?
