    hi! ceridwyn

I would like to ask some questions to you!
I am a registered nurse in the Philippines who is currently living here in Norway with an authorization to work as a Nursing Assistant.
I have a 3 years and a half hospital experience, 1 yr as a ER nurse and the other 2 yrs. I worked in Operating Room as a surgical nurse in the Philippines before I moved here in Norway.
I am will take IELTS here in Norway this coming January 19, 2013 bec. I am planning to apply in Australia as a RN and I know it takes time for the processing of my application. I am a little bit afraid of taking risk investing money for the BP because I heard nowadays, it is difficult to find a job in Australia. I have a friend in Sydney and he offered me to stay there and he will help me to process my application. Do you think I have an edge to find a job there since I have 2 yrs working experience as OR nurse? What school in Sydney that offers BP in case? I hope you can help me. Thank you so much.

You have an edge over other applicants, but how long since you worked as an RN would need to be considered by an employer. If only 1-3 years okay, but longer than that ......

Private sector are always looking for OT staff, not sure if many still sponsor.

You would have to take the plunge like everyone else....though with experience of over 3 years and theatre experience it would be better odds, than those with no experience or very little to try and beat the local new grads for a full time nursing position. Good luck.

Thank you for that. By the way, how about the school for BP in Sydney? Do you have any idea about that? I cannot go to any place other than Sydney since my friend will help me with the accomodation.

The only education institution that offers the bridging program in NSW is the College of Nursing in Burwood and they are always full according to the posters here.

Please pursue the AHPRA website - education programs for information on any education courses.

    Hi Chelseaxyrene,

I will be doing BP. I have applied to UNISA and Latrobe and awaiting for acceptance. Don't have enough finance for masters but I too think getting masters would have a better outlook. Let us hope and pray that our paths would end in success.;-)

Hi cynthia, I had the same problem on CPDs but I found ifolio.com.au where i can properly document my self directed CPDs. Can I ask, have you already lodged your application to AHPRA? And is it with or without CPDs?
