Importance of Middle Name in Taking NCLEX Exam

World Registration

Hello everyone,

Last night I purchased Crendentials Evaluation Service (CES) on CGFNS.org for my NCLEX Exam. I was worried when I saw the spelling of my middle name incorrectly. I inputted "AGIULAR" instead of "AGUILAR", maybe because I had a long and tiring day.I interchanged the letter I and U and unfortunately it reflects to my Transcript and CES application form (required documents to complete my CES). I tried to email CGFNS to request to change my middle name's spelling and to send me an edited forms which have my correct middle name on it. Sadly, they just replied that I need to send them a postal mail to request for any changes. The cost of sending mail from here, Philippines to Philadelphia is quiet expensive.

So to all co-RN, do I really need to write a letter to them to change the spelling of my middle name or will I just let it that way? I read some comments about similar topics, they said that the first name and the last name are the only important things to check your identity when taking NCLEX. I want to be clear about this confusion to prevent future problems.

Thank you so much for those who will help me with my problem. :)

Hi esme. Thank you for welcoming me. Do you have any idea about my concern?

May be easier to just write to CGFNS and explain that you spelt your middle name wrong and could they correct the spelling

My middle name was also misspelled, but when I called in they told me as long as the first and last name was correct I would be fine. I never bothered changing it and it didnt cause any issues.

I'm sorry but I do not....Silver is the house resource on this subject....:)

Hi I have this problem right now I also misspelled my last name. (I'm dyslexic). I just called them and they said that I have to purchase a re-evaluation fee of $210. How did I not notice that?.... :( Should I just leave it as it is since in my registration for board of nursing my name was correct? I really do not know if I should purchase the re-evaluation fee as money is really tight right now. I'm barely getting by with all the expenses... I ready that all that mattered was the first and last name. I really don't wanna shell out any more cash........ Thanks all

Hi, I actually called BON today and explained to them what happened. They told me that I shouldn't worry to much about it because they only mind about the first name and the last name. They also said that they still very via SSN so it wouldn't be a problem. I'm not speaking for everyone else guys. It's just based on my experience.
