You may want to keep yourselves updated with the current real-time or close to it processing times with your application.

Once the CA BRN receives your new updated information such as copies transcripts etc requested from your overseas schools, the clock can re-set itself to the longer wait times.

You just need to stay back in the line as those ahead of you who have already had their documentation received will get reviewed first.

The last numbers I saw was that the CA BRN processes on average between 30,000 - 35,000 applications per month with a limited amount of staffing. This number includes applicants from all over the country and world.

So you guys and gals can see why it's nearly impossible to get thru to the phone or get a reply back via e-mail, the inquiries are usually all the same, asking the same questions over and over. All these inquiries merely impacts your own application.

So you can see, it's on average 10-12 weeks to get thru your application or about 3 months and they have ALL the documentation as requested.

One piece of missing information only puts your application that much further behind. So say, your school takes 3-4 weeks to reply, then allow 1-2 weeks to receive into the CA BRN mailroom and get passed on to your evaluator, your application just went another month of delay.

This is NOT the CA BRN fault. Just like you need to pressure your own school to hurry up is like telling the CA BRN to hurry up, it's not going to happen.

HI miss steppybay! I applied for licensure by examination at BRN-CA March 10. I just received a letter today saying that I need to submit the following:

1. complete record of cases

2. academic calendar and one page BSN curriculum.

Ive heard of reciprocity cases that were required to take OB and MS classes. But I haven't heard about new applicants required to take OB and MS.

Some, not all who recently trained have managed ok with CA as some Philippine nursing schools have changed. Also some that trained earlier 2000 managed ok

I am an indian RN who cleared NCLEX RN from CA IN 2007. As I dont have an SSN , I dont have a license. Now is it possible for me to obtain license by endorsement from TEXAS BON

You have no license to endorse, you need to apply for exam and arrange NCLEX results to be forwarded

Also please advise if i enter US ,get an SSN and apply for CA license, will CA BON consider my request as I have cleared NCLEX RN in July 2007 and nothing have been done to save my file.... or NCLEX RN from expire or whatever

Yes licensure by exam.

Only the BRN can say whether they will accept your application as many years have gone by you will need to start from scratch
