hey all!!

just wanted to say that i think i found my job for when i finish in december... i have been doing a cardiology rotation and absolutely love it! and who'd have thought... i'm good at it! :) it just so happened that my preceptor/clinical instructor is the medical administrator for the 7-cardiologist group and he said he'd love for me to work for him. i think i'll be working at a hospital close to my house and be doing both inpatient/outpatient work. i know they want to train me to do the devices, too. it has the potential to be overwhelming, so i will have to negotiate specifics early on.

but anyway... i just wanted to update everybody! and kristie... if you read this, i'll take any pointers you wanna dish out that will help me in negotiations re: pay, call (which i do not mind doing to some degree), expectations, etc.

thanks for all the help/advice along the way ya'll!!

i'll keep ya updated as things progress.... :)

Congratulations on your new job!!!

Hi Charlsie (or is it Daisy?)

I've been following your posts (with some jealousy) since you are so close to the end! I have about 2 years left of a Med-Surg CNS (unless I change to ACNP). I think you are doing great, and the job sounds wonderful. I wish you all the best!

Congratulations & best wishes!

I've followed your posts as well, and I too am heartened to see you get this job. I'll soon start my post-bachelor's program and then begin working on my ACNP classes while I work as an RN. You're doing exactly what I hope to be doing, so please keep us updated! Details, we want details......

I've been trying to get up the nerve to go find and interview an NP in a local cardiology practice. Wanted to see where and when my school will happen first, but in the meantime I live vicariously.

Congrats!

thanks for all the support and encouraging words!!

yesterday, i had an interview with the cardiology group and things are looking great. the administrator said he just wanted to talk to my preceptor and the doctor i'll be working for to see what their thoughts were... and i was like... "please do!" i went to them before giving the administrator my cv to see what they thought! they're actually the ones that encouraged me to give it to him... *hehe* in fact, the cardiologist i will probably be hired to work with took me and another girl in the office out for beer and chips two nights ago... so, it should work out!

its nice to think about having things worked out... but at the same time, its a bit nerve wracking since i will officially be held accountable for my choices! aaaahhhh!!! i'm a bit scared... but i know its probably natural for a new grad to be a bit nervous about their first months coming out of school. yet another milestone to jump over...

i'll keep you posted!!! :)

Congratulations! What a great way to smooth the transition, as you already have some experience there as a student. Keep us posted on how it goes!

Take care!
