Nurses Relations

Please don't label this thread "negative". It is meant to be fun.

Your scrubs are ugly.

I don't think you are "cute" when you get all googley-eyed and giggly around the young docs. I think it makes nurses look bad.

I cannot BELIEVE you were nominated for A Daisy Award! Did you nominate yourself?

It's called deodorant, use it.

Do your own assessment and stop badgering me for every single detail during report.

I swear I am going to put Ex Lax all over my lunch so the next time someone calls out for the runs, I will know it is you who keeps stealing my food!

Yes, my stethoscope is nice and it was expensive. Buy your own.

No time to help me turn my patient, huh? Yet, every time you need help, I have been there for you.

Your situational awareness sucks. While you are browsing the latest deals on the internet, I am drowning. Look around and help out your coworkers.

I'm happy you look rested and ready for your shift. Next time get here 15 minutes earlier so I can leave on time and be rested and ready for you.

No, you don't ALWAYS get the crappy assignment. I don't think you'd be happy with ANY assignment.

If you're sooooo sick of this place- leave.

I love you guys! Thank you for working so hard when we need it.

Yes I love my coworkers. Nice to work with a group of people that are hard-workers.

:D

There is nothing fun about anything that is posted above. It's mean. Hateful. Some things we think should never be given a voice. It's called discretion.

I wouldn't say it even if I could get away with it.

This post was meant to be a vent... It's not mean or hateful and if it happens to raise awareness of people who are like this then good. Some things you can't say directly to someone's face but you just need to say it. It sounds like the op is just fed up with people who always complain and take advantage. I've worked with a few of them and maybe I'm even guilty of some of the things that were mentioned. I think we all could do things to improve our practice and be kinder to our coworkers. If this helps the op keep from having animosity or causing an issue at work I say it's great. At any rate, who are you to judge?

Thank you for your post. I have considered what you said. I still consider this a negative, ugly thread. I will however, keep my opinions to myself, and skip viewing this thread.

About the judgemental thing. Why is it that I am passing judgement because I don't like it, but you are not because you do? Just asking.

The idea is to say those things we think with out hurting the people we work with. It's a safe way to vent. Please Do Not take this as a personal attack.

No, I don't think your purple hair is attractive. (on a 30 something Nurse)

You want to leave 4 hours early and dump your 25 patients on WHO?????

See this button?? DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! (computer illiterite nurse who keeps locking us all out of the computer)

No, I don't think Mr. X needs "special attention" just because he reminds you of your Uncle, you have 20 other residents who need you too.

No it's not cute when the LOL with Dementia is trying to beat another resident with her cane!

I love working with you, please sign up on my unit more often!!

There is no way you're giving me a hard time about the 22 gauge, patent IV being reported in the right hand instead of the right wrist when the horrible, inaccurate report you gave me last week nearly caused the sky to come crashing down.

Kids, calm down! CHILL OUT! Chillax! This is a vent thread! I hope some of you don't ever fall off your pedestals, because if you do and have to walk around down here with the rest of us, that will be such a shame. lol

Here's my contribution:

Don't you DARE call turning pts, changing beds, and ambulating pts "aide work;" if you do, you'll be doing all that yourself and I'll help another nurse who appreciates what I do for their pts!! :D

Do not complain about staying late to chart when you could have spent that hour you used to surf the internet getting it all done.

Yes, actually, I am busy. Just because I'm sitting in front a computer getting my charting done instead of surfing does not mean I have time to "chat".

I cannot believe you checked on your patient in the last hour before shift change because the stool had been on his skin for so long I had to place a wet washcloth over it for several minutes before it would soften enough to wipe off.

Quit bringing your outside problems into work.

Thanks for stepping in to help me when I was drowning. You are a good person, and a great nurse and I want to be you when I grow up.

I can sense the bitterness however, at the same time I understand the feeling and MANY days I'm Emily Blunt from the Devil Wears Prada....ICBB!

I really do think you are a fantastic nurse, I wish you thought you were too!

Please don't ask me again what time of which day the dopamine gtt was turned off. It was like 2 weeks ago, and at this point I really don't care. I give you everything you need when I give you report. Really, I do.

It is possible to come to work NOT smelling like an ashtray, I manage to do it, so do many others, please figure that out, you are offensive even to other smokers, let alone the rest of the world.

Lastly, we all have our little quirks that can drive each other crazy, but when it come down to it, you are the greatest group of nurses and support staff a girl could ever hope to work with!

I love the report one-liners. I once left in a middle of a report because I was literally being harrased about an arrythmia alarm that happened 4 days ago..We need some limits on behaviors during report.
