Has anyone applied to Cape Fear's Nursing Program for 2012?

U.S.A. North Carolina

Hi I applied to Cape Fear's Program for August 2012 term. I know that the application deadline just recently ended, however, I was just wondering if anyone had heard any news through the grapevine about applicant pool/point count?

I plan to go in on Tuesday since I will be there anyway for class. Good luck to all!

I'll be going on Monday before my CNA class, hoping they find some points that I didn't!

haha wouldnt that be wonderful, im right there with you

Just went to point count review, fair number of people there. The man told me that around 280 people made it past the PSB. They didn't find any points that I missed.

Hey did my point count today, no extra points for me either, but the counselor did tell me the exact number of point count letters that went out was 250. Better odds than last year I guess but you never can tell differences in the applicant pool. She also told me that we should receive our letters next Monday or Tuesday 26th or 27th. Good luck to you all I will keep us all in my prayers.

Good luck all!!! CFCC is a great school, hopefully you all get your letters soon!!

Hi Olliesmom,

If accepted how long do you have before you have to turn in all the pre acceptance requirements (cpr, medical records, background check)?

Trying to think back to then......It will be listed on the packet you get when you get your letter and the materials. They give you more info at the info session they will hold over the summer for the people who do get accepted. The CPR, wait until after May so that you won't have to worry about re-doing it before graduation. Otherwise I'd wait until I get the info to see what it says

Sorry I'm not more help, but they changed some stuff from when I got in until now!

Good luck!

Hi Olliesmom,

Last year they sent all of the instructions for completing forms and deadline dates along with the acceptance packets. I did the CPR class in July. It is helpful to go ahead and start getting your ducks in a row ahead of time. At orientation last year, the scrub people were there so that you could go ahead and put in your orders. I believe they also were selling stethoscopes. You need an all white pair of comfortable shoes and a watch with a second hand so if you see any good deals on either of those things you could go ahead and grab them (one less thing to worry about this summer). As for the physical, MMR records, background check, and drug screen, I personally completed and turned those in after class started but I wouldn't recommend that (too much to stress about already without having to worry about getting forms in) and this year plan to do them earlier. You definitely need them before clinicals start at the end of September. It does help to kind of know what to expect.

Thanks to you both, very informative and encouraging. Letters get mailed out tomorrow I think. Yikes!

Not gonna lie, just a little nervous and anxious. Good luck to everyone! Thank you all for a chance to vent and relax a little. It is all in their hands now.

Im with you wtc everytime I think about how close it is that we are going to find out I get intense butterflys in my stomach (not the good kind). Freaking!!!
