Guilford Tech Fall 2012 Nursing Program

U.S.A. North Carolina

New to allnurses.com but, I just applied for Nursing School at GTCC and I am so anxious to find out what points are getting accepted! Just wondering how many have applied and what their point range was? That Tea's V was a butt Kicker for me! So anxious to get a letter!

Haha I love the story Linda. And I agree we all need to get together before classes start (provided I get in :/ ). It'd be really nice to meet everyone and celebrate :)

LM...still nothing....I called last week and left a message to whoever in nursing they transferred me to and noone called me back. I havent really been pursuing it b/c i assumed if i didnt get anything all week...its probably a safe bet i did not get in.

Sending in my physical sheet, immunizations, and CPR paperwork tomorrow. Then it's.. still the waiting game

Momof2Sons, Do not assume anything. The reason I say this is because even if you didn't get in you should have received at least a denial letter by now. I recommend you going to campus in person. I have found it is never a good idea to leave a message because they have so many people looking for information it is easy for you to fall in the cracks and be forgotten.

I am going to be getting a head start on pharmaceutical calculations starting this Tuesday morning for anyone wanting to join me and Victoria. For those of you who cannot make it on Tuesday mornings but still want to study, contact me at [email protected] to set up a time good for you. My schedule is pretty flexible.

Mogget, I wish I had my shot records already or I would be sending my stuff in too.

YAY Excited about getting a head start....Annalise I think we should all get together also, before school starts...and I KNOW someone who has a pretty fun house hahahaha JK:D

Pharmaceutical calculations sounds great! I would love to get a head start with you guys but have chemistry and history on tuesdays unfortunately from 9am to 12pm. Is there anyway we can do a study group on other days as well? Have you ladies already bought your books for Nursing 111? My friend who is in the ADN program now is trying to sell me her books from fall of 2011 but I am curious if we are using the same books this year. For current students at GTCC I hope you guys have a wonderful spring break. I will be coasting down the lazy river with margaritas in myrtle beach. (thank the lord)

I am free to study with anyone and can arrange my schedule for any time. I do not mind covering and recovering information. I know that one scheduled time is not going to work for everyone.

As a matter of fact, Victoria and I have rescheduled Tuesday for 1 PM (at least this week, but due to the circumstances anyone wanting to come should ask her since I am going to her house to help with her schedule constraints this week.)

I was worried too that I might get an old NUR 111 book. I think we will have plenty of time to get a book in advance once they open up enrollment. At least we can be sure we get the correct book and edition.

Just spoke with them...they did not send denial letters this time she said (why i have no idea), but i didnt make the cut b/c i was a few points away from passing the TEAS and she said usually they do not have enough students pass the TEAS, but did this time. Thats ok..WSSU herei come! I hope you guys do great and take care of my yankee friend!

Sorry to hear that Momof2sons. I wish you lots of luck at WSSU. It is good that you have options. Stay in touch!

Good luck Momof2sons!

I would love to join in on the group study time. I am usually available Monday's and Friday mornings if those days work for anybody else. Does anyone know how they set up the scheduling for classes in the fall? Specifically when we get our clinical hours, etc. I haven't spoken to anyone in the department yet, and I'm feeling a little in the dark over how my schedule will be in the fall.

Scheduled my physical for the 23rd and mailed out my little green acceptance card today. I need to get a move on with the CPR class....I haven't even looked into it yet!

I hope everyone has a great spring break!! I'll be enjoying mine at home with the kids. I'm redoing my oldest daughter's room and moving the baby out of ours. Should keep me busy this week!

WaitingPatiently2012, wow...you have a busy week ahead! Congratulations on the milestone of moving the baby out of your room. That's always exciting. :yeah:

We will be able to register on-line for our classes sometime in April (I think, don't quote me). I am sure in July at the Orientation a lot of our questions will be answered.

As for the CPR. I do recommend CardioSavers in Greensboro. You can go to AmericanHeart and register for their classes held on Saturdays. It is only $35 (pay at the class), and takes only 2 hours. Easy-peasy! If you have not already clicked "like" on our Facebook page, GTCC ADN Class of 2014, I recommend it. I have posted on there specific instructions on how to register for the CPR class.

Everyone enjoy Spring Break!

Current Countdown: 23 weeks, 6 days, 16 hours, 20 minutes, and 15 seconds until class.

Linda

Again, anyone that wants to arrange a time to get together with me to go over pharmaceutical calculations, email me at [email protected].
