  1. I will be beginning an OR Training Program in the end of July. I am extremely excited and eager to begin. I am a new nurse graduate. Ever since my rotation in the OR early in the nursing program I have been fixated on becoming a perioperative nurse. Congratulations to everyone else who has been accepted into an OR program!
  2. Well, good luck to you! :) I don't think many of us check back to this thread often, but I get updates to my e-mail when someone posts to this thread. If you have any questions that I might be able to answer for you, let me know.
  3. StephanieP2009 - We all found out approximately 4 - 6 weeks after the deadline for application. I have been accepted to GTCC to begin in the Fall 2012. Have you been accepted? I see you are already an LPN/LVN...
  4. Congrats, Olivia!! I will send you a friend request in FB. Keep in touch, and best of luck to you in your studies.
  5. Okay everybody...here's the deal. You have to contact me at [email protected] if you want to set up a time to go over some pharmaceutical calculations. It is too difficult to get everyone together on the same schedule, but as I have said, my schedule is pretty flexible. So, if you seriously want to get a jump on it shoot me an e-mail. Linda
  6. Ugh! Today started out great...had lunch with my husband and mother, took my mother shopping, then got a call from my friend's child's school because they couldn't reach her or her husband. I am an emergency contact. Her son was tackled by a classmate and hit his head on concrete. He has a concussion, but that isn't the kicker. They did a CT in the ER and found he has a large lesion about 1/4 the size of his brain! It was out of the ER doctor's expertise, so they are being referred to a Neurosurgeon at Baptist. It looks as though it may be fluid filled, but they aren't sure yet. The boy is only 10 years old. If any of you are praying people...please pray for ETHAN. Thanks. Linda
  7. I hear ya! We are rooting for you to join us!
  8. Yes! March 29th! But they will probably start notifying alternates after June 2nd because those who were accepted have to turn their paperwork in by then or forfeit their seat. So, there will still be that waiting game, unfortunately.
  9. Yes, all medical forms are due by June 2nd. You will need a flu shot, and I recommend the Meningococcal vaccine as well even though it is not required. Better to have it than not to when we are in the hospital doing our clinicals. Also be sure if you have not had your Hepatitis B series that you get that done (most everyone will have already gotten them for their CNA). Your PPD (Tuberculin Test) has to be done annually, so make sure it has not run out of date. Other reminders: Seat acceptance must be received by March 29th Orientation is July 13th First day of class is August 20th Anyone that has any questions, feel free to ask. If I don't know the answer I will find out and get back to you.
  10. Speaking of glitches, Victoria...you posted twice. LOL I must have wracked your brain with my worksheet! What fun!
  11. Today Victoria and I covered a review of basic mathematics, temperature conversions, and prescription interpretation. Anyone who wants to set up at time with me or me and Victoria please give a specific date and time that is good for you so we can make it happen. A few of you have mentioned wanting to study, but without specifics I can't make it happen. Thanks guys! Victoria, I will have a worksheet prepared and sent to you shortly with review problems...

  13. Congratulations, Franchisebaby!!! I sent my seat acceptance in before I could even blink! LOL Can't wait to meet you, too.
  14. What do I search to find your FB? I will send you a friend request, accept it, and then I will put the link on your wall.
